A brother for Poppy

I'm due in January and still haven't thought seriously about a name. I would like two middle names like my daughter. Any suggestions? I like classic boy's names but wonder whether I should be going with something that would complement Poppy instead. I like Joseph and James but I'd love some new suggestions. George, Toby, Dylan, Samuel, Benjamin nice too. Hmmm, does anyone have any thoughts?

Adam, Thomas, James, Jack??

How about something more naturalistic, like Ansel, or Ash?

Briony32 · 22/11/2012 17:25

Thankyou both of you. Like James and Thomas.
Yes, I was wondering about something more naturalistic to complement Poppy but all I can think of are classic names. I quite like Ash but not keen on the full name Ashleigh. Do you have any more ideas along the nature theme?

I think Ash by itself is a proper name, like the tree.

Heath? I'm thinking plants here to go with Poppy, but what about Oso (Spanish for bear) or a Native American name, like Geronimo or Dakota? Mason is fun too.

Poppy and Oscar
Poppy and Jasper
Poppy and Felix
Poppy and Oliver
Poppy and Freddy
Poppy and Cole
Poppy and Milo
Poppy and Charlie

Jasper Woody and River are the only nature names I can think of - I had a student in my class a few years back called Wolf but I wouldnt say that was a nature name.

How about Poppy and Rufus
Or Rufus Jasper Samuel _
or William Toby George _

Doesn't match any of your criteria but I adore Reuben Grin

Briony32 · 22/11/2012 22:24

Yes, Reuben is on my list too. Maybe I shouldn't have criteria!
Dylan yes
Robin yes (good for time of the year)
Toby yes
Henry yes
Hadn't thought of Jasper but quite like it!
Oscar yes
Rowan a possibility too
Just got to husband onboard now!
Thanks guys, any more ideas appreciated though, the more the better!

Husband just told me that Jasper is a name for a wasp! I'm not too sure about that..

You could go with Asher (I know two adorable little Ashers :) ) and call him Ash.

CheerfulYank · 23/11/2012 04:14

Also Asher means blessed and happy, which is lovely. :)

Drmcdreamyswife · 23/11/2012 04:20

I know a family with a poppy and a Harry. Always thought they went well together

Fifi2406 · 23/11/2012 08:10

I know I little boy called Forrest, he's literally the cutest thing so I love his name! Bit out there though!

River is also lovely

RosannaBanana · 23/11/2012 12:09

My first thought was Tom. Poppy and Tom sounds lovely :)
