What are your reactions to Veronique?

Grapes. Sole Veronique is made with grapes. So it makes me think of fishy grapes - not a particularly pleasant thing!

What about Verona?

If you loathe Veronica, it seems really odd to use Veronique.
How about Vera? People mock it, but it's quite elegant and European in its way!
Same with Valerie. Or Vita?

Any Veroniques on this side of the channel are at least forty-five. Not a good name. If you want a French V-name, how about Victoire? or Vanessa?
