I like it

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 10/11/2012 22:07

I like it, v. Hitchcock. Great choice.

RoomForASmallOne · 10/11/2012 22:09

Love it..... still wish I'd used it for DD, 8 years too late Smile

BustersOfDoom · 10/11/2012 22:25

I like it. My best friend at primary school in the 70s was called Marnie.

curiousgeorgie · 10/11/2012 22:35

Love it!

manicinsomniac · 10/11/2012 22:37

I'm not keen on it, certainly not as a standalone name. It's also pretty tied to the 70s.

AuraofDora · 10/11/2012 22:39

rhymes with sarnie
dont like it sorry

EverybodysSpookyEyed · 10/11/2012 22:43

Love it

DH hates it unfortunately!

VolumeOfACone · 10/11/2012 22:45

I like it. Could grow to love it. Maybe.

CointreauVersial · 10/11/2012 22:45

Lovely name, unusual without being weird. I know a 13yo Marnie and it suits her so well.

EverybodysSpookyEyed · 10/11/2012 22:47

Is it short for something?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/11/2012 22:47

I love it. DDs nursery teacher has just called her baby Marnie.

Piffpaffpoff · 10/11/2012 22:50

Love it. Absolutely love it.

MaitreKarlsson · 10/11/2012 22:58

Hi, this caught my eye as I like the Hitchcock film...but I don't think it's a good name for a baby! The Marnie in the film was sexually abused as a child (her mum was a prostitute), kills one of her mothers clients by accident, grows up to be a thief, then gets raped by Sean Connery in the film. It's a bit like those people who call their daughter Lolita..

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 10/11/2012 23:00

Don't like it, in my slightly run down town it's 10 a penny, short for Armani, absolutly dreadful name in my opinion and hundreds of little Marnis running around.

squoosh · 11/11/2012 02:54

Well I love it.

I think of a frosty Hitchcock blonde (weren't they all) and a book I read as a child 'When Marnie Was There'.

RubyFakeNails · 11/11/2012 03:05

I like it. Lots of people haven't seen or know the Hitchcock film so I wouldn't worry about any associations with that.

I think its unusual without being weird and also I don't really have any preconceptions about it. I think it doesn't come with a set type of person, could suit anyone. I would definitely keep it has Marnie not Marni though.

HolyBrrrrrrBatman · 11/11/2012 05:06

I really like it, it's on my list for a future dd.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/11/2012 07:30

Hundreds of Armanis my arse.

Gwennan · 11/11/2012 11:54

I don't like how it sounds, sorry.
