cordelia classic not many Ned connotations
Juno 17yo knocked up,bad movie.Ned name

BoyMeetsWorld · 10/11/2012 19:54

I genuinely like Cordelia & there are a few nice nns for it. Juno def not - I ditto the teen pregnancy connotations

RTchoke · 10/11/2012 20:22

Love Juno. For 1000s of years it was associated with the chief Roman goddess, for about 4 years people will remember the movie. Do not let the movie put you off.

squoosh · 10/11/2012 20:31

Juno is gorgeous. Reminds me of Juno and the Paycock

Cordelia is flouncy. She would look and act like Bonnie Langford. Do you really want to be Bonnie Langford's Mum?

AyeOopMoose · 10/11/2012 20:52

Depends on surname. I loved Cordelia but it's too long for us.

I do like Juno but for some reason reminds me of the word jumbo!

How about Hera? I love it but DH vetoed it.

curiousgeorgie · 10/11/2012 21:07

Cordelia makes me think of Buffy...

But I really dislike Juno, sorry...

Normaprice · 10/11/2012 21:20

Both nice. Prefer Juno reminds me of lovely girl I used to work with called Junova- shortened to Juno.

fishcalledwonder · 10/11/2012 21:22

We considered Cordelia for DD. It is lovely but decided we weren't posh enough to pull it off!

CharlieCoCo · 10/11/2012 21:43

I love Juno. also love Juniper with nn of Juno (til someone on here said it sounds like jew nipper and it is now a bit off-putting.)

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 10/11/2012 22:09

Prefer cordelia, lovely sound and tone to the name.

Anonymumous · 10/11/2012 22:15

"She would look and act like Bonnie Langford". What a stupid thing to say! As if her name is going to have more effect on the way she looks and acts than the way her parents bring her up. And, in case you didn't notice, Bonnie Langford's name is "Bonnie" or "Bonita", not Cordelia. Hmm

OP, Cordelia is lovely - really pretty. I don't like Juno so much. Don't go for Bonita though, whatever you do. Wink

squoosh · 10/11/2012 22:39

Oh go boil your head Anonymumous. It's called a j-o-k-e.

I think Cordelia is a silly, frilly name and I think Bonnie Langford is a silly, frilly woman.

How very dull life must be when one is so literal. Confused

scottishmummy · 10/11/2012 22:45

god what a feetie stampy rant
I thought the Bonnie Langford post was funny.

scarlettsmummy2 · 10/11/2012 22:46

Cordelia

HolyBrrrrrrBatman · 11/11/2012 05:15

I don't like Juno (although I really liked the film). It just sounds like 'd'you know?'.

Not really keen on Cordelia either, but I would pick that over Juno.

nooka · 11/11/2012 05:47

My cousin is a Cordelia and in no way is she either silly or frilly. I think it's quite a strong, serious sort of name, and the Shakespearean character is a pretty good heroine too.

I like Juno too, partly because I really like the movie, again another headstrong character. I suspect it might get stronger reactions as a more unusual name.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/11/2012 15:33

I prefer Cordelia by a country mile.

I don't like the way Juno sounds.

Binkybix · 11/11/2012 18:41

Cordelia for me. It's on my list and I'm nothing like Bonnie Langford ;)

amarylisnightandday · 11/11/2012 18:43

Juno - lovely name and sweet film.
Cordelia just reminds me of King Lear - no

Anonymumous · 11/11/2012 21:54

Oooh, sorry I'm sure. I thought jokes were supposed to be funny. Confused Anyway, I've boiled my head and it is now very sore indeed. You really shouldn't say things like that to us "literal" people...

scottishmummy · 11/11/2012 21:59

seeing you so literal good job no one said go butter your fuck

baskingseals · 11/11/2012 22:01

Anonymumous · 11/11/2012 22:08

scottishmummy · 11/11/2012 22:12
