Tallulah, maybe....but not Tullulah.

DottieRose · 03/11/2012 19:54

I really like it and lulu is a cute nn, but I hate your younique spelling please say that was a mistake???

newby2 · 03/11/2012 19:58

Yep mistake well spotted ladies- we were thinking Tally too as a nn? Hadn't even thought of the name before today and it struck me. It's in the running with India and Martha.

As is "No one south of Heaven's Gonna treat you finer, Tallulah had her training in North Carolina"?

I think it might be a burden.

Bugsy Malone? LOVED IT!! I'm the next generation up from Bugsy, didn't even occur to me. Take your point though.

I had a Tallulah in my class at school. She was lovely. It was actually her middle name, her first name was even more barmy.

I wouldn't use it myself, but it could be worse.

NellyJob · 03/11/2012 20:26

Tallulah is an excellent name.

scottishmummy · 03/11/2012 20:29

tally is too equestrian, ghastly.unless you're in horsey set and frightfully posh
tallulah is too cutesy sugary for my liking
lulu, scottish singer and weeeeeeeeeellllll you make me want to shout

B1ueberryJam · 03/11/2012 20:31

Dreadful. And I don't think it's all that posh anymore either which is a good thing if you're not yourself. loads of actresses chose it about five years ago. after tallulah banks? not sure. some actress who started an acting school. I'm not fond of Tabitha either. Tabby and Tally. They sound like pandas.

thegreylady · 03/11/2012 20:37

Tallulah is gorgeous.I love Martha too but not too keen on India.I once taught twins named Indya and Chyna [yes honestly those spellings] and it has put me off a bit :)

Oh I love old 'flapper' names. I used to work with a woman called Dixie - she was very posh in that aristo 'down at heel' way. Drove a battered Land Rover and was always covered in dog hairs.

scottishmummy · 03/11/2012 20:47

I think tally is vaguely posh horsey set, tallulah too sugary
India, no dont like it, too media darling.if you like country names Bulgaria is underused
martha I like

NellyJob · 03/11/2012 21:08

but Martha would be in doing the dishes while Tallulah would be out having fun, dancing on tables etc.

chickydoo · 03/11/2012 21:12

"Talulla does the Hula in Hawaii"
The song from Dirty Dancing that Baby's sister sings in the talent night...cringe moment.....

newby2 · 03/11/2012 21:28

Thanks ladies, mixed bag with some interesting reasoning. Nah, we're not posh but just like the name.
