Does it make you think of Mrs Basil Fawlty or has Sybil from Downton Abbey no taken over from that image?
I have always loved the name since I first heard of it years ago in a Chalet School book. I think its really pretty and feminine.

It's what we call the Sat Nav! Grin
I quite like it though.

I like it. Prefer it to Isabel. But it's similarity to such a popular name combined with the downton abbey affect will make this name really popular really quickly I think. well, it might.

Nicole Kidman's sister called her dd Sybil after NK had called her dd Isabella, which sounds a bit tongue twistery Isabella and Sybil. Prefer Sybil. Less fussy.

It does make me think of faulty towers, but then I'm an old sod.

I'm almost 30 (so not too old just yet!) and a huge fan of Fawlty Towers. I think of Sybil Fawlty and "Benzedrine puff-adders".

Not for me, sorry!

Fabulous name, and woefully underused.

Much, much nicer than Isabelle!
