definitely Tabitha

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/10/2012 22:33

tabitha

GoOooooooooonatic · 30/10/2012 22:34

My goddaughter is Tabitha. Tabby is a lovely nickname too.

LauraPalmerPlusOne · 30/10/2012 22:35

Tabitha - it was top on our list if our boy bump had been a girl!

BettyLovesBillie · 30/10/2012 22:36

Oooooh a consensus so far! Interesting....keep em coming [hgrin]

Hmm. . . definitely Beatrix for me. I don't like Tabitha or Tabby, although I think it might be a bit more unusual right at the moment than Beatrix/Beatrice, if you care about that.

BettyLovesBillie · 30/10/2012 22:46

I would prefer the less common alright....though I think they both may be getting popular. I also prefer the nn Bee rather than Tabby. But when it comes to the name in its full form I can't decide.

What about the nn 'Tib'?

LauraPalmerPlusOne · 30/10/2012 23:12

(there was a book I loved when I was younger about three little friends named Betsy, Tacy & Tib - have loved the nn ever since!)

BettyLovesBillie · 30/10/2012 23:14

Yeah I prefer Tib or Tibby.......could you possibly get away with Bee as a nn for Tabitha? Since it is in there Tab Bee Tha......if you say it really slowly.....am I just clutching at straws here! [hblush]

Tabitha! By a country mile. Tis lovely :)

messtins · 31/10/2012 08:13

Couldn't get past the cat connection for Tabitha so prefer Beatrice.

ZombieArmsDragOnTheFloor · 31/10/2012 08:29

I really don't like Beatrix (Beatrice is far nicer) so if I had to pick one that leaves Tabitha.

LauraPalmerPlusOne · 31/10/2012 10:08

I think that you can get away with anything when it comes to nicknames and Bee would definitely work for Tabitha.

(My dad's nn for me is still was 'Sparkle' and it's nowhere near my actual name! Blush)

DottieRose · 31/10/2012 20:21

Beatrix would be my pick

Otterpop · 31/10/2012 21:45

Tabitha, gorgeous name!

ditzydrawers · 01/11/2012 19:12

Love them both. Tabitha was on our list but it didn't go with our surname. But Bea is such a gorgeous nickname. I would go for Beatrix for that reason.

MadamFolly · 02/11/2012 13:46

Beatrix

Tabitha sounds like a cat's name.

Binkybix · 02/11/2012 17:58

I love Beatrix (hate Beatrice weirdly). Not fond on Tabitha.

Katydive · 02/11/2012 21:01

I already have two DS's called Archie and Harry, I am expecting a third and if it is a boy I really like Bertie (it doesnt bother me about Bertie the bus!) I am struggling to find a name for a girl that is not everywhere and is not to 'posh'. At risk of upsetting my MIL, I am starting to really love the name Anne (after my Mum) I have never heard it yet for a little girl and it would actually mean something. My Mum would be thrilled of course! Just thinking now of Annes I like - Anne of Green Gables, Anne Hathaway, what does anyone else think?

OwedToAutumn · 02/11/2012 21:02

Beatrix.

OwedToAutumn · 02/11/2012 21:04

I know someone who calls her daughter Bee. The girl's name is Eloise.

Katydive · 02/11/2012 21:11

Ooh sorry, didn't mean to but in, meant to start a new thread!!

MajesticWhine · 02/11/2012 21:15

If pressed to choose, then Beatrix
