Anna - beautiful name, especially when said in an Italian accent!!!!!

ThePathanKhansWitch · 26/10/2012 22:35

I have an Anna, but Annie is kinda cool.Always think of the talented and beautiful Diane Keaton when I hear it.

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/10/2012 22:36

Anna with Annie as a nickname. Anna is classic,Annie is a nickname to me personally.

StellaNova · 26/10/2012 23:03

Anna known as Annie. I has exactly the same thought process for DS2, who then turned out to be a boy. Love both names. We are a fan of Annie Rose, Alfie's sister, in this house.

katecreate · 26/10/2012 23:13

If you're going to call her Annie, I'd say that you should just call her Annie! It's a really nice name Smile.

I prefer Anna. But that is probably based on children I know with those names!

I would say Anna then you have option of what to use.

Notquite · 26/10/2012 23:17

I have an Anna, sometimes Annie (only to me though).

Excellent name.

FrightRunScream · 26/10/2012 23:22

Anna, nn Annie, but Anna lovely just as it is.

ditzydrawers · 27/10/2012 10:09

Anne known as Annie, I would have thought. For some reason that makes more sense to me than having Anna as the formal name. Or just Annie. Very lovely either way.

ThwartedbyMum · 27/10/2012 10:14

I have an Anna who is known as Annie. Both names are lovely. Any ideas on a middle name to go with it, that might make the difference to which on you eventually choose.

glastocat · 27/10/2012 10:17

Anna, lovely name. Annie is a nickname and one my mum Anne loathes.

ZZZenAgain · 27/10/2012 10:18

If you don't like Anna, just call her Annie. A lot of people will call her by her given name which would be a shame if you don't like it. If you like both, I think I would call her Anna and use Annie.

MrsCantSayAnything · 27/10/2012 10:21

Annie is not a nickname anymore...it's a name. Anna suggests someone elegant whilst Annie suggests someone cute. Which do you want your child associated with?

FushiaFernica · 27/10/2012 10:23

Anna only because I know an Anna who is lovely. Annie I think of an old lady.

VolumeOfACone · 27/10/2012 10:35

If you plan to call her Annie, just go with Annie I vote.

almapudden · 27/10/2012 10:54

Anna. Annie is a nickname.

MerseyMama · 27/10/2012 10:56

Annie

HeinousHecate · 27/10/2012 10:56

Anna.

Then she's got the choice.

Plus it's always good to have a formal name.

annie, annie, annie..

OpheliasWeepingWillow · 27/10/2012 10:59

I have an Annie Grin

charlottehere · 27/10/2012 11:04

Annie, I know a 10 year old and a 60 year old, suits both. Smile

TessOfTheBurbervilles · 27/10/2012 12:25

I just love Annie.

Although I must say, the name Anna is forever tainted for me, because it's the name of the utter cow girl who bullied me at school. Therefore I cannot see or hear the name, without feeling a chill down my spine. For that very reason, I cannot view Anna in a favourable way, so my opinion in very much biased by that.

simplesusan · 27/10/2012 13:28

I would just call her Annie if that is what you intend to use.
