Right so my partner and I are in the do we don't we start trying stage so baby names come up regularly as a source of entertainment.

I love quirky names , posh middle class quirky not made up from thin air quirky. I dont know why just do ! My partner likes 'traditional' to the point of BORING !

I have ruled out loads because I work with children so there are many that have been just chucked because children with those names always have some bad personality traits (I know names dont make a difference but It just makes me not like them) For instance there will never ever ever be a Ricardo in my home after being severely bitten and pushed to the edge lol !

Humour us give us some to 'calmly and rationally' debate about

Anything that sounds common or chavvy will be dismissed by both of us ...No one dare say Mackenzie or anything similar

But those names aren't really quirky are they?

My opinion on your choices - love Ruben, Eve and Digby (unusual for me to really like a name and these I love!).

Can take or leave Amelia - doesn't really do anything for me.

Jack, Charlie and Katie - sorry but these are just far too popular for me to even have an opinion on them. I just get bored when I hear them.

Keep looking for that quirky list of names!!

Exactly my feeling on the Jack , charlie & katie .

I tend to like names when I havn't worked with a child with that name lol ...
Its getting harder as I think at last tally i've worked with 500+ children over my time
and way too many Jack , charlies and katie's !!

Lol! I also work with children and was in a similar boat years ago!!

Some good suggestions ^^

I prefer the traditional spelling Reuben.

Amelia is now the number one name for a girl in England and Wales so wouldn't use that. What about Octavia? (I like this but don't know that I would be brave enough to use it myself).

Your list is better than your DP's.

AlexanderS · 26/10/2012 19:05

Or Ophelia?

AlexanderS · 26/10/2012 19:14

Or Aurelia!

Fluffanstuff · 26/10/2012 19:18

I like Aurelia

I quite like Sasha for a girl or Sascha for a boy too. Although im not so sure about wether I would be brave enough to use it for a boy.

I think boys names are the worst to decide on !!
