Fraser or Spencer?

I am expecting dc3. We like names that everyone knows but you do not hear very often.

We are currently liking Spencer and Fraser for a boy. Are these becoming quite popular or do they still fit into our solid, familiar but not common likes?

I like Fraser

Rhubarbgarden · 23/10/2012 09:44

Spencer just makes me think of Frank Spencer.

Lollyheart · 23/10/2012 09:45

Fraser.

Fraser is good.

Spencer, definitely. I don't usually like surnamey names but much prefer it to Fraser.

Fraser is harsh (razor, eraser, taser).

Out of the two of them I prefer Fraser - sounds a stronger name than Spencer.

I like Fraser more, not sure why. I know a Spencer and he's a bit limp, IYKWIM.

I know both a young Spencer and a young Fraser- no idea if it's becoming popular though.

I prefer Fraser

Fraser is a lovely name

DessieLou · 23/10/2012 13:56

Don't think either are hugely popular (I'm in Scotland). I love Fraser so that gets my vote. Spencer reminds me of that muppet from Big Brother years ago...sorry! Blush

mayanna123 · 23/10/2012 18:14

Love them both!

Ilovecake1 · 23/10/2012 18:26

My nephew is Spencer and I love it!! They sometimes call him Spence for short!

Pudgy2011 · 23/10/2012 19:04

This is a really hard one for me. Fraser is the name of my DH and Spencer is the name of my very recently deceased DB.

I love them both, I'll be honest! DS's middle name is Spencer, named for his uncle. If you love them both equally and plan on more babies, name your first one Fraser and the second one Spencer (assuming you have another boy!) - or just keep going until you get to use both names Grin

Pudgy2011 · 23/10/2012 19:10

We're big fans of familiar but not common names, DS1 is called Carter and clearly with a Fraser, Spencer and Carter apparently surnames for first names is a big hit in both our families!
