Boring or classic?

My DH adores this name (it was his grandmothers) and before I was pregnant, I really liked it and we'd decided a first DD would be called it. However, now that it's a reality I'm not as sure about it. I like how it's not pretty or fussy and also that it's not too common. But is it dull?

Middle name would be Rose as per my family's tradition.

It's lovely! Very pretty and not too popular.

Puppypanic · 18/10/2012 09:05

Very Dull I'm afraid

SorrelForbes · 18/10/2012 09:07

A beautiful name. I'm biased though as it is a bit of a family name (was my maternal grandmother's name and quite a few aunts, nieces and cousins have it as a middle name)

neontetra · 18/10/2012 09:12

Lovely.

tiredteddy · 18/10/2012 09:14

It's my mums name and I am considering it for middle name if dc3 is a girl!

DialMforMummy · 18/10/2012 09:20

Great. Classy.

istilllovelassie · 18/10/2012 09:27

My six year old is a Frances . We chose it as we wanted something classic that wasn't over used . It suits her perfectly , and not at all dull and boring . Some of her friends call her frankie now . Maybe it's how she is but on her it's edgy with a touch of Tom boy !!

Tugstonia · 18/10/2012 09:27

Love it! A good friend of mine is Frances Rose and she is fab :)

IHeartKingThistle · 18/10/2012 09:28

Love it.

rachel234 · 18/10/2012 09:41

Lovely name that makes a refreshing change from all the cutesy Lilys, Millys and Ellies these days.

Frances Rose - perfect!

SLVC · 18/10/2012 09:44

It's my daughter's middle name and I think it's cool... (I also like that it's Baby from Dirty Dancing's real name, and the name of Kurt Cobain's daughter. How can you not love that.. Grin)

CheerfulYank · 18/10/2012 09:45

I LOVE it...have just actually given up Frances Rose from my shortlist. I miss it already. :(

better nn than Fanny

UltraBOF · 18/10/2012 20:39

Really gorgeous. If I were to have another girl, I'd seriously consider it. Not that I will. But it's lovely, and I agree that Frankie is a cute nickname.

MarianForrester · 18/10/2012 20:40

Love it. Oh, I wish I had a girl Smile

AlphabetiSpaghetti · 18/10/2012 20:41

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/10/2012 20:43

Awesome name (it's mine)....have never been Fran, only my best friend is allowed to call me Frankie. Actually thanks to uni mates and FB I get called Effie more (Frances Emily - FE - Effie) but love my name

Iwillorderthefood · 18/10/2012 20:46

It's gorgeous

MarianForrester · 18/10/2012 20:47

Noooo! Not Frankie!

pjd · 18/10/2012 20:51

Wonderful name.
My mum is Frances, and is known as Fran to some friends, which I think is a nice nickname for an adult, and Frankie is cute for a child.

eBook · 18/10/2012 22:43

I like it.

fraktion · 18/10/2012 22:48

Just never move to France with it Wink
