What do people think of Kayla?
Can i have some in-depth thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm afraid the problem with that is that she will be madly in love with my DS. (Seriously, we know 3 Kaylas and all 3 have either declared their love for him or tried to kiss him or both) It could be quite the cross to bear.

ripsishere · 16/10/2012 03:20

My in-depth though is it should be Michaela. That's as in depth as I can manage I'm afraid.

freerangechickens · 16/10/2012 03:24

My gut tells me that the prevailing trend on this thread is that you will be told it is "too American". I could be wrong.

ripsishere · 16/10/2012 03:43

or, it is an abbreviation of Michaela.
or, it makes me sing 'hayla, hayla shayla, hayla shayla, haylaaa hooooooo'

I used the name Kayla in one of my stories. It was a story where a muscle-bound high schooler who thinks he's God's Gift to women gets turned into his ideal girl by a magic belt. I guess from what's been said that it doesn't work too well on a real child.

Lovely name! My next door neighbour's daughter is called that and a very pretty lovely little girl she is too.

Gwennan · 16/10/2012 08:59

I think it sounds very pretty but it is very American and 1980s American at that.

I would use the name Michaela instead, which is far more beautiful and classic.

Bunders99 · 16/10/2012 09:17

I think it sounds quite American but that's not necessarily a problem. I like girls names that end in 'a'.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 16/10/2012 11:25

It was on my list if I had a girl. Ended up with boy. I like it

Ephiny · 16/10/2012 11:33

I like it.

mathanxiety · 16/10/2012 19:12

It is a very downmarket American name.

DebK2012 · 16/10/2012 19:14

Nice, but would have to be short for Michaela.

Fluffypoms · 16/10/2012 19:18

My sisters Name short of Michala
Never gets called Michala tho ha

SoupDragon · 16/10/2012 19:19

I think it looks ugly but can't work it why. I don't much like the sound either.

Choufleur · 16/10/2012 19:24

Don't like it but that may be because of the accent where I live - it would be pronounced Kaylaarr

DebK2012 · 16/10/2012 19:27

I like Michele more, but not Shelley!

Zara1984 · 16/10/2012 19:29

I know 4 dogs called Kayla. So errrr no I wouldn't choose it for a baby Grin

Also it's a bit trailer park IMO

SunshineAndSand · 16/10/2012 19:32

It means banana in Urdu. Smile
