Idle thought: Solange?

I've bothered this board endlessly, and I think that (for now) I've settled on my name.

But last night (3am-hormone-induced-madness strikes again) I thought: what about Solange?

Is it a nice name, or not?

(And this is inspired by what I think of as classic French, rather than Ms Knowles- while she is, I think, rather fab, I'm not up for naming my DD in her honour particularly. There would be a lot of leggy hot pant wearing to live up to, after all Grin)

I think it's a lovely name, but the one I knew from school days hated standing out (an being nn'ed Sausage)

MikeLitorisBites · 10/10/2012 09:21

First thought was solange Knowles.

Still nice name though.

YouMayLogOut · 10/10/2012 09:37

Does it rhyme with orange?

jkklpu · 10/10/2012 09:38

I prefer Solenne and Segolene

LuellaLovesLavender · 10/10/2012 10:41

It's a nice name but my very first thought is Solange Knowles!

MikeLitorisBites · 10/10/2012 11:00

You really need to say it with a French accent imho.

ScaryBOOAlot · 10/10/2012 11:01

I think it looks like a group of letters that have been bundled together, really.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 10/10/2012 11:04

Just, no. Sorry.

Gwennan · 10/10/2012 11:11

Beyoncé's sister. That's all I can think of too!

tigrou · 10/10/2012 18:11

I prefer Solène

kaytola · 10/10/2012 18:13

Sounds like 'flange'. It's a no from me.

TurtlenamedMack · 10/10/2012 20:22

No. Flange was my first thought. If it occurs to me, it will occur to every 13yr old boy she meets.

squoosh · 10/10/2012 20:50

I do sometimes think to myself 'Mr and Mrs Knowles produced two talented and beautiful daughters, isn't it a shame that they had such terrible taste in names'.

Seriously. Beyoncé, Solange. Bad, baaaaad names.

NotChristmasCarol · 10/10/2012 21:21

Sounds like the (K)no(wle)s have it.

Funnily enough, I met a Solenne today- that's nice, but I'm sticking with my current choice.

I hardly want to ask this, but what's a flange?

squoosh · 10/10/2012 21:51

flange is slang for vagina

NotChristmasCarol · 10/10/2012 22:00

Ah. Right. Unfortunate. Thanks.

I must get out more.
