I really like this name. DH thinks it's a bit too 'out there'. I'm after opinions on what other people think before I try and convince him otherwise.

'out there'? Really?
Fwiw, I think it's a lovely name Smile

MrsJohnDeere · 06/10/2012 16:02

I love it too but dh isn't keen.Sad

BooBooChicken · 06/10/2012 16:04

Love it

manicinsomniac · 06/10/2012 16:13

I love it.

It's not top 300 and I've only met one child with the name (several adults) but I still wouldn't call it 'out there'

I have no idea why it's not more popular, I think it's much prettier than Julia.

Actually prefer the spelling Juliette but realise that's a bit fancy for many people's tastes.

YouMayLogOut · 06/10/2012 16:22

Lovely name! I wouldn't say it was "out there", it's a perfectly normal name, just underused at the moment.

SoMuchToBits · 06/10/2012 16:30

I think it's lovely, not too popular but certainly not ridiculously unusual.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 06/10/2012 16:31

Agree not "out there" at all - lovely classic name. It's DD's middle name

Funnylittleturkishdelight · 06/10/2012 16:35

Love it!

squoosh · 06/10/2012 17:54

Not 'out there' at all although men can be more conservative when it comes to picking names. I am surprised to hear it's outside of the top 300. Lovely and pretty and under used. And it's certainly got literary credentials Smile

AgathaTrunchbull · 06/10/2012 18:28

How on earth is Juliet 'out there'? Is your other half one of the Charlotte/Emily/Sophie brigade?

UltraBOF · 06/10/2012 18:29

Love love love

flopsy1974 · 06/10/2012 19:05

Yes Agatha, I think he is Grin

I like it - but then I would because it's my daughter's name.

picnicbasketcase · 06/10/2012 19:47

Love it, not out anywhere as far as I can see.

nasara · 06/10/2012 19:52

It's on our shortlist - not so keen on the potential nns though. I would spell it Juliet, too.

baskingseals · 06/10/2012 21:18

i really like this name and don't see it as unusual at all.

persuade him.

birdofthenorth · 07/10/2012 15:56

I've just put this back on my list after your thread reminded me! I adore it. Classic and under-used, but not remotely crazy imho.

bradbourne · 07/10/2012 21:06

If you already have a son named "Romeo", I'd avoid.

Otherwise, I think it's a lovely name. It's certainly not weird or "out there". Juliette is the French spelling - I prefer the normal one.

OrangeFireandGoldashes · 07/10/2012 21:23

Beautiful name, timeless and classic.

amandine07 · 08/10/2012 20:36

I love it!
It's on my baby name list and I'd spell it Juliette....it is beautiful, classic and timeless. I'd say go for it!
