Being induced in a week and am torn between the two. May have to settle this by MN poll!

They're both great names! I slightly prefer Felix and would only use Theo if short for Theodore.

Ham69 · 05/10/2012 15:46

I love both names and both were on my short list years ago. I ended up with Theo which I still love but would prob go with Felix if you don't want a name that's too popular.

katiecubs · 05/10/2012 15:57

I have a Felix so am biased but i love it! He is such a happy cheeky little chap it really suits him.

I also love Theo too though!

CarrotsForRebeccaRabbit · 05/10/2012 15:57

Felix (mine is amazing and it suits him so much, hes such a chubby happy soul!)

chaya5738 · 05/10/2012 16:38

Hah - our baby was born a few days ago and we were deciding between Felix and Theodore! We went with Felix.

mrsbugsywugsy · 05/10/2012 16:48

I prefer Theo

peeriebear · 05/10/2012 16:50

These were both on our shortlist too! We went with neither in the end but if I had to I'd have gone with Theodore.

sittinginthesun · 05/10/2012 16:53

Love both. I have one already, and the other is my secret next choice, although I'm not planning another one:)

Sorry that doesn't help!

Marne · 05/10/2012 16:53

Love Felix Smile, i also like Theo but know a couple children with that name so probably wouldn't chose it.

Tommy · 05/10/2012 16:53

Theo!

5madthings · 05/10/2012 16:58

How funny when we had ds1 these were our choices! We went with Theodore but he is known as Theo or Theodorable! He is now 13!!! And doesnt like to be xalled theodorable :(

I know two little felixes and have met a few little theos but when we used it for ds1 he was the only one and in his high school with over 1600 pupils there are only two theos!

MsHighwater · 05/10/2012 17:02

I have a cat called Felix.

FriedSprout · 05/10/2012 17:08

I prefer Theodore, nn Theo. - Felix is fine, although, very, very popular.

SkaterGrrrrl · 05/10/2012 17:24

Appreciate all the comments and glad no one has said "Eeew" to our shortlist!

Felix: 5
Theo: 4

I like both, but prefer Theo.

5 all.

SurreyWithAFringeOnTop · 05/10/2012 18:29

Love them both but Felix edges it for me.

YouMayLogOut · 05/10/2012 18:32

How about using both, i.e. one as middle name? Theo(dore) Felix or Felix Theo(dore)?

katiecubs · 05/10/2012 19:24

Theo is actually way more popular than Felix - something like number 30 vs. 130 in the names charts!

Ham69 · 05/10/2012 19:37

Er, number 50 actually. Still a lovely name and come across far less Theos than Harrys, Josephs , Olivers, etc

Anonymumous · 05/10/2012 20:03

I went with Theodore eight years ago thinking it was uncommon, and now I just keep hearing it everywhere. Grrrr! I still love it, but now I wish we'd gone for something like Theodosius instead! Grin

5madthings · 05/10/2012 20:21

well i still love it but yes i have been slightly annoyed by its rise in popularity, but as mine is 13 its obvious we thought of it first (smug face) Grin i dont think its that popular, i know a few others in the under 5? age group but not loads. i dont think they will be one of three in their class at school put ti that way!

and it has great nickname potentials :)

Badgerina · 05/10/2012 20:40

I love both!

Anonymumous · 05/10/2012 21:29

If my son had been born a week late instead of five weeks early, he would have been one of two Theodores in his class at school. And yet I had never, ever come across another Theodore (or Theo or Ted or Teddy) in all my life before. More crucially, neither had DH and he's a teacher!

I blame Theo Walcott. Angry

persephoneplum · 07/10/2012 03:16

I have both!! Great names :)
