As above really. DD is a few days old now and we are not sure which one to choose.

Any feedback is welcome. I'm pretty sure I like Iris best. DH likes Honor.

Ah, ok
don't use it then!

Felicitywascold · 05/10/2012 15:29

I've only ever met 'old money' Saskias, it doesn't sound even slightly TOWIE to me.

I'd choose it.

Saskia Nell is nice to my ears.

Then probably Iris.

Not keen on Honor. -unless you are American?

MolotovBomb · 05/10/2012 15:30

Nell. My DD1's name is very close to it, but I didn't think of it as a name when she was born in 2009.

The look and sound of Nell is lovely. That's what I'd go for :)

Congratulations on your new baby! Thanks

MerylStrop · 05/10/2012 15:33

All gorgeous - you can't go wrong
In order of pref for me: Honor, Saskia, Nell, Iris (only because Iris is more popular round here)
If want Nell, have Helena as full name (beautiful)

MerylStrop · 05/10/2012 15:34

Have never watched TOWIE, so no assocs for me

spaghettina · 09/10/2012 14:10

I like all except Nell, which to me is too much of a nickname. Agree with Helena or Eleanor(a) as full name then go with Nell for nickname.
But I prefer Iris, Saskia and Honor in that order. It also depends what goes best with your surname...

spaghettina · 09/10/2012 14:10

and congraulations, by the way! :)

Houseworkprocrastinator · 09/10/2012 14:24

I like iris the best. The others a nice too but nell just makes me think of nelly the elephant but that might just be me :)

LexiLoganberry · 09/10/2012 14:30

I like Nell.

ShhhhhGoBackToSleep · 09/10/2012 14:35

I love Nell.

scootle · 09/10/2012 14:38

Nell (helena on the bc) or Honor

Iris also nice

not so keen on Saskia

never mind your dh though - what do you love most

scootle · 09/10/2012 14:40

Just realised you like Iris best, sorry. It's lovely, but less to my taste than Nell or Honor. I would just sit with it for a few days.

MaBaya · 09/10/2012 16:44

Honor is dreadul. It will date very quickly.

Iris is everywhere now.

I love Nell is its short for something more official - Helena or Penelope.

Sakia is quite harsh sounding.

JennaMoroney · 09/10/2012 23:49

I love Honor! ROYsh called his daughter Honor though. hmmm.

Nell is terribly frumpy.
Saskia a bit pretensh
Iris is very ugly.

chickydoo · 09/10/2012 23:52

Nell... Love it!
Saskia .....yuck...
Honor ok
Iris.....old Lady

mathanxiety · 10/10/2012 00:03

Honor.

nappyaddict · 10/10/2012 12:22

Nell or Honor.

StrangeGlue · 10/10/2012 12:25

Iris or saskia

Nell is a nickname so I'd personally go for Eleanor if that's what you want.

I dislike character traits as names and along with an americanised spelling that'd be honor out for me.

schplappo · 11/10/2012 02:04

Congratulations!

Honor is my dd's name so that's my favourite! Can be tricky with middle names though as "Honor XXX" can sound like a command. We were in same situation as you when she was born but from our list, she just was Honor. Perhaps the same will happen with your little girl - she'll just be one of them.

Can I suggest Ellen as a bc version for Nell too.

birdofthenorth · 11/10/2012 07:08

Congrats! I absolutely love Nell, Iris and Honor they are all on my list (although a friend just used Nell, short for Ellen in her case). Not so keen on Saskia, always felt a bit try-hard to me, sorry (plus that loopy bird who got murdered with an ashtray in Eastenders springs to mind, even though it was years ago!). Love the other three though. If it helps I would say Nell is the warmest, Iris the most elegant and Honor the most classic and least faddy.

mummybare · 11/10/2012 07:25

I love Iris and Nell - I particularly like it short for Penelope or Helena - and Honor is nice and underused. In fact I can ONLY think of Honor Blackman, but she's a glamorous lady, so it's not a bad association.

Not so keen on Saskia, but think the others are all lovely.

mummybare · 11/10/2012 07:26

Oh yes, and congratulations! Thanks

HiHowAreYou · 11/10/2012 07:42

I don't like Nell, too nicknamey.
Saskia sounds too... harsh somehow.

Of the other two, I slightly prefer Honor.

quirrelquarrel · 11/10/2012 09:25

Honor is very cute. I adore Saskia. I read a very sensitive and beautifully written YA book called "Saskia's Journey" earlier this year and it made me love the name even more. I think it's interesting, sparky, elegant, delicate.

Metronomy · 11/10/2012 09:55

Iris.
