Is it a lovely name? Never mind mentioning the TV programme as that won't matter in a year or so.

Beatrice is the more popular name. I think last time I looked Beatrice was in the top 200 or so -but outside the top 100. MIranda was at about 700 and Rosalind was even less popular.

Narked - don't worry. I think it's safe Grin

Yes, love it.

burcham12 · 25/09/2012 10:43

Beautiful, strong, and still uncommon.

seeker · 25/09/2012 10:45

My niece is Miranda. Known for some reason by her friends as Miro.

She is at a 1200 all girl secondary school and there are only two of them if that helps.

racingheart · 25/09/2012 10:49

The only Mirandas I've ever met were stunningly beautiful, very intelligent and very rich. One of them was also lovely, warm and witty and a good mate for many years so it has good associations here.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 25/09/2012 10:50

It's lovely.

Little one I know also goes by Mindy, which is sweet.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 25/09/2012 10:52

x-post with racing; "beautiful, very intelligent and very rich" - yes, that would be the associations I'd make, too. Yolanda and Marina, also.

Narked · 25/09/2012 13:10

OK. But if anyone mentions my other two favourites I'm going to cry.

peeriebear · 25/09/2012 13:12

It makes me think of mandarin oranges Confused

FunnysInLaJardin · 25/09/2012 13:14

I really like Miranda, esp since I knew a very glamorous one when I was little and so the name still relates to her

manicinsomniac · 25/09/2012 15:48

I love it. I know two, one aged 7 and one aged 5. One of them is a nightmare to handle but so bubbly, cute and beautiful that she hasn't put me off the name.

Jusfloatingby · 25/09/2012 16:46

I think its a beautiful name. Elegant but slightly fey.

delilah88 · 25/09/2012 17:28

Hi narked! I think people either love or hate it instinctively, so I don't think it will 'catch on' by being mentioned. That darkgreener website said in fact it was falling in popularity

Good!

baskingseals · 26/09/2012 22:32

it's my middle name. i have always liked it, and nearly called dd it. sort of wish i had now.

neolara · 26/09/2012 22:33

Fab.

SomersetONeil · 27/09/2012 03:50

I really like it - one of those few timeless names, that you'd never be able to guess the age of the owner, unlike, say, Margaret, Karen or Millie.

Safire · 27/09/2012 10:39

I like it, very pretty. Minerva for an alternative?
