Our cat (Claudius) gets called Claudy. Great name :).

LouMacca · 18/09/2012 16:13

I think it's a lovely name, bit on the posh side, but fine if you have the goods to back it up!! Smile

Minty82 · 18/09/2012 16:22

I know an adult one, don't think she has a nn.

morethanmama · 18/09/2012 17:49

Omg I love this name. Currently pregnant, read this and have impulsively decided if it is a dd that is the name. Thank you Grin I think you would nn claudy.

mayanna123 · 18/09/2012 22:04

The meaning would put me off, unfortunately. Derived from Latin claudus meaning disabled/lame.

Clawdy · 18/09/2012 22:52

I like it,but then I would,wouldn't I? Smile

Badgerina · 19/09/2012 00:17

AnnaEH · 19/09/2012 12:05

Love it- was on my list for DC2 until I found out I was expecting a DS!

phlebas · 19/09/2012 12:53

I have one (she's 11) - she's sometimes called Claudie or Claude.

BillyBollyBandy · 19/09/2012 13:02

I have one, she's Claudi or Coco. Just turned 1.

CointreauVersial · 19/09/2012 13:03

I know a Claudie (not Claudia), pretty name.

SleepyFergus · 19/09/2012 15:05

I have a 12 week old Claudia! So obv I love it! I will say though, it's not a 'baby' name but I think will come into its own when she's older, like from 2 onwards.

We call her 'Clo' for short, or Coco (the clown) and I also like Claudy but struggling to get others to call her this, so tend to use Clo.

(DD is a Claw-dia btw.)

SleepyFergus · 19/09/2012 15:09

Sorry, pressed send too soon.

And ignore all those bookworms that bang on about how Claudia means lame. Nobody really cares about name derivations now, so unless you're a Latin aficionado or know lots of people who are, I wouldn't worry about it too much. My surname means squint-nose' in its original form and I've never been taunted by this in all my 40 years!

BillyBollyBandy · 19/09/2012 15:10

No sleepy Coco (Chanel) not (the clown) Wink Grin

BuntyPenfold · 19/09/2012 18:05

I really like Claudie; sweet and not overused.

catwoo · 19/09/2012 18:14

middle aged horse-faced woman!

JamieandTheMagicTorch · 19/09/2012 19:06

It's my favourite girl's name

I also like Claudine
