Ok...so baby is due anytime, I'm thinking the name DH and I may end up compromising on agreeing on will be Elizabeth.
So, I need a middle name and am struggling for some reason as most of the other names on my shortlist don't go.

Names I like:
Charlotte
Zara
Eloise
Elara
Alexandra (sadly can't use though)
.....French and/or traditional are sort of my style

Names DH likes:
....yet to be suggested!! Angry

Our surname is a longish 'Mac' name so MN probably needs to be reasonable concise I think...

Names I do not like (personally preference, please don't take offence if it's your child's!):

  • Milly, Tilly, Molly type names
  • virtue names: Honour, Charity, Hope etc
  • months of the year
  • flowers
  • granny chic: Edith, Maud, Ivy etc

So...if anyone has any ideas...

Elizabeth Juliette
Elizabeth Clara

Elizabeth Coralie
Elizabeth Marie
Elizabeth Emma
Elizabeth Claire
Elizabeth Sylvie
Elizabeth Laura
Elizabeth Clementine
Elizabeth Gabrielle
Elizabeth Celine
Elizabeth Adele
Elizabeth Nicole
Elizabeth Lea
Elizabeth Luna
Elizabeth Sofia
Elizabeth Sarah

Our Elizabeth due in 4 weeks will be Elizabeth Wren.
Was going to suggest Rose but i see you don't like flower names. I agree it could do with being a shorter middle name.
Here's other middle names that were on our list:
Elizabeth Phoebe
Elizabeth Anne
Elizabeth Lily
Elizabeth Melody
Elizabeth Amy
Elizabeth Allegra
Elizabeth Lucia
Elizabeth Jessica
Elizabeth Ellen
Elizabeth Sophie
Elizabeth Willow

My daughter's middle name is Faye, Short, simple and sweet. Love the name Elizabeth (I wanted it myself!). I think you need a shortish middle name if your surname is long aswell.

RikersBeard · 17/09/2012 11:47

I would keep it short:

Anne/Anna
Jane
Mary/Marie
Sophie
Odile/Odette

Littlemissimpatient · 17/09/2012 11:51

Elizabeth Louise
Elizabeth Iona
Elizabeth Hope
Elizabeth May
Sorry I know bottom 2 are in your no lists..

Flirty I remember you from the first time mums expecting spring babies thread yonks ago - I now have a 3 year old Oscar and a 14 month old James - congrats on your pregnancy Grin - which flavour did you have 3 years ago?

I love Elizabeth - it was on our list. I think Elizabeth Anne is beautiful, also like Elizabeth Charlotte. How about Elizabeth Amelie if you like French names?

ATailOfTwoKitties · 17/09/2012 11:55

Extra marks to LittleMiss for May, which is a month AND a flower!
Lucy, Helen, Laura?

PeshwariNaan · 17/09/2012 11:58

Elizabeth Anne is lovely and classic - since Elizabeth has four syllables I think you'd be wise to pick something short and sweet!

FlirtyThirty · 17/09/2012 12:05

Thanks for all the suggestions! Smile

Bicnod Hello!! How are you! My little boy is 3 now...cannot believe how the time has flown! This has been a much much tougher pregnancy...but now getting very excited about the prospect of a new baby in our house again! Don't know if it's a boy or girl...but have suspicions that it may in fact be an acrobat! How lovely that you have two little boys now....I have adored by a mother of a boy, and I don't know that I honestly felt that way before having him! JUst so so much fun and energy!
