What do you think of this for a ds? Do you know any...if so what reactions do they get to it? Are there a number of ways to pronounce it and which is the correct pronounciation?? Thanks.

I would pronounce it EE-saw. Don't know any. I like biblical names but this is a bit so for me.

FriggFRIGG · 11/09/2012 20:11

Ee-sah

I like it.

juneau · 11/09/2012 20:19

I saw Esau sitting on a seesaw

Snap ! juneau but I know it as...

I saw Esau , sitting on a seesaw ,
How many Esses in that !

Sorry LemonLovesLilac I don't like it .
but it's not my baby , so you decide

LeeCoakley · 11/09/2012 20:25

Can't actually remember the details but Esau wasn't nice was he? Bit like Cain in the sibling wars IIRC.

juneau · 11/09/2012 20:36

How many Esses in that !

Oh yes! I'd forgotten that bit. The answer, of course is none!

Also, in the Bible Jacob was a smooth man and Esau was a hairy man. I don't think I could call a child Esau, bearing that in mind. Not really a fan of hirsuteness Grin

GOLDFaverolles · 11/09/2012 20:38

I thought exactly the same as Juneau :)

Nice name though, I like it!

CPtart · 11/09/2012 20:39

Sounds like a donkey noise. Awful.

TudorJess · 11/09/2012 21:54

I quite like it. Would pronounce it Ee-saw.

Or how about Eli, Elias, Elliot, Ezekiel, Ethan, Ezra?

Badgerina · 12/09/2012 08:31

Ee-saw. Not to my taste. Ezra is better IMO Smile

IawnCont · 12/09/2012 08:46

I really like it. Never heard it before. Nything wrong with a bit of hairiness.

MadBusLady · 12/09/2012 10:56

I've never heard the rhyme, I would have said Ees-ow. There's always one Smile I like it but I think he would have to spend a lot of time correcting/spelling.

MrsJohnDeere · 12/09/2012 11:40

I would pronounce it ee-saw

The hairy thing puts me off (have got a ridiculous phobia of hairy backs on males Blush).

onedev · 12/09/2012 11:41

Esau was the hairy one, wasnt he? Grin

Not a fan of hairy blokes so it's a no from me!

WhatYouLookingAt · 12/09/2012 12:40

I would say Ees-ow, since I've met one and thats what he said.

Don't like it though.
