Which do you like best, christopher or nicholas? Both go with our surname and we have a Robert and a mary. Thanks in advance

Christopher.

Stellan · 29/08/2012 21:09

Robert and Mary are lovely names.

I like both Christopher and Nicholas but I think Christopher fits in better with Robert and Mary. I am also partial to the nickname Kit, which swings it towards Christopher for me.

lurcherlover · 29/08/2012 21:10

I love Kit and would have Christopher just so I could use it, but BIL is a Christopher. Personally I'm not keen on Nicholas.

NellyBluth · 29/08/2012 21:14

I like Nicholas - well, I like Nicky. But Kit is the nicest, so Christopher if you'd shorten to Kit.

herhonesty · 29/08/2012 21:23

Nicholas.

NoComet · 29/08/2012 21:27

Kit not Chris,

I find Chris really confusing since I've known Christopher's and Christine's all shortened to Chris and it does my head in.
One gender per name please, I'm very easily muddled.

PolkaDotMoon · 29/08/2012 21:28

Nicholas but if it was a choice between Nicholas and Christian I'd say Christian.

CanoeSlalom · 29/08/2012 22:42

They're both very nice! I think I prefer Christopher.

CanoeSlalom · 29/08/2012 22:42

(definitely prefer the traditional Chris for a nickname rather than the catty/airfix Kit though!)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 29/08/2012 23:01

Nicholas

0percypig0 · 30/08/2012 08:47

Thanks for your replies, I'm not a fan of shortening names or nick names so we would call him christopher. If that gets changed when he goes to school, then fair enough. Still undecided...

Christopher, without a doubt.

Littlecherublegs · 30/08/2012 09:49

Ooh a tricky one as they are both lovely!

I cant decide, either!! (unhelpful I know!!)

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 30/08/2012 09:58

I like Christopher best.

(unless he is due at christmas in which case neither!)

Badgerina · 30/08/2012 10:20

I like Kit or Nico, but not so keen on the full versions. Probs Nicholas if pushed.

squoosh · 30/08/2012 10:51

I like Kit and Nick, the full names are a bit long for my taste.

The "Nicker-less" thing would put me off so Christopher for me, but they are both nice names.
