GoldPlatedNineDoors I like Alice but OH is set against...as usual.

Julia Belle sounds so lovely.

mummabug · 31/08/2012 22:53

It does but I think I will have to be giving way to Belle as the first name!

I like Rachael -seems softer than Rachel (and I know that makes no sense what so ever but I just think it is a prettier name)

plus I don't know any little Rachel/Rachaels

don't like the others, sorry

mummabug · 31/08/2012 22:55

That's okay workshy :)

Rachel or Juliet I would use. The others are not my taste but unoffensive too - I would change Sylvia to Sylvie though if I was forced to use it.

juliet - love it! A really beautiful timeless classic which is not overused. My favourite on your list.

Sylvia - i love Sylvie, but Sylvia kind of reminds me of saliva. sorry.

Mae - no boring filler name. Sophie-mae, Rosie-Mae.

Rachel - lovely, a good strong name.

Vivien - i like this but it's too fussy if you spell it Vivienne.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 31/08/2012 23:19

I love the names Rachael and Juliet, but if your DH doesn't, then how about some of my other favourites instead?
Esther
Rita
Miriam
Matilda

almapudden · 31/08/2012 23:34

I like Juliet and Sylvia.

Not keen on Vivienne or Mae (Vivian is a boy's name to me), and Rachel is inoffensive but dull.

Devora · 31/08/2012 23:37

Rita is very cute and due for a revival.

greencolorpack · 31/08/2012 23:48

If you like May but you want something unusual there's the name Maythu which is pronounced May-too and is Burmese. Could be May for short.

vivienne is pretty but gets shortened to Viv.

Realised this thread is a massive trap, someone will have kids with these names and will get the raging hump about any critique so I will quit while ahead.

shockers · 31/08/2012 23:55

I knew a beautiful girl named Beth Juliet.

mathanxiety · 01/09/2012 03:13

I love Rita. And Miriam too.

HansieMom · 01/09/2012 03:27

I think Sylvia and Vivienne are beautiful. I named one of my cats Vivienne as she deserved a beautiful name. Life had been hard for her, very young mother and she and kittens were dumped. Juliet, I do not like it, nor Mae or Rachel.

nooka · 01/09/2012 03:40

I really like Juliet and Vivienne. Sylvia was my MILs name and we thought about it for dd. Rachel is OK, but I/'m not very keen on Mae.

I don't like Bella or Belle at all, they don't seem like full names to e and the former is much too Twilight and the later is too Disney.

Get your dh to make some more suggestions, it's not fair for him to bulldoze you!

ENormaSnob · 01/09/2012 11:24

Rachael is the best name ever and is usually attached to amazing, cool people.

Vivienne is lovely too.

Arabellasmella · 02/09/2012 18:42

I like them all. Juliet maybe less so. Rachel is great but doesn't seem to fit the feeling of the others. I prefer the spelling May to Mae.
And I really love Sylvia and Vivienne.

HiHowAreYou · 02/09/2012 19:02

I don't like Mae, Vivienne, or Bella.
The others are all lovely.
