I'm 35 weeks and really struggling. Early on we'd come up with plenty of names we both liked, but since finding out it was a boy and since he's been getting more real in my mind, it's harder to imagine a lot of them on a real baby.
Add that to the fact that my husband insisted on telling people the names we were thinking of as if they were a done deal (they never were), despite me begging him to keep them to ourselves as we still weren't sure and I really didn't want people's input, I've been forced to see people's reactions which has put me off the two frontrunners.
Now we're really struggling - he hates most of my names, I hate all of his without exception. So some opinions would be great -
The ones we had agreed on earlier:
Now I don't feel as though these are suitable and can't explain why, I just can't imagine telling people that's his name without being embarrassed.
I like:
- Theodore (he hated this so much he has made fun of me for it loudly in front of most of our friends and family any time anyone asked if we had a name, I love it but wish I'd never said it, so humiliated)
- Tobias
- Hugo (too posh apparently, but I think it's cute)
- Maddox
- Dexter (also completely ruled out, too trendy)
- Matthias
We really wanted something that won't be the same as everyone in his class, but that's a real and recognisable name. Older names I liked are becoming really popular! Living in the South East I'm also really conscious that I don't want anything too posh, so no Gabriel or Sebastien or anything.
Any thoughts/help would be appreciated!
