I thought I had it all figured out but my mum is putting doubts in my head about my choice of name. I know I shouldn't listen to other people but shes my mother and I cant help it!

Luka Jacob Thomas

What are your thoughts on the name Luka? For a child and an adult?

I think Luca is a lovely name but wouldn't spell it with a k. Think it's quite popular and with good reason! I know of 2, both spelt with a c, but ultimately it's your choice.

GnocchiNineDoors · 26/08/2012 17:40

I prefer it with a C but your baby your choice.

Tell your DM shes named her children. Then, when ds is born, wait a day or two minimum before deciding.

Its.a big decisio .and, imo, not.one that can be finalised until after you meet them.

Lovely name, but like the other posters, I prefer it with a C Smile

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 26/08/2012 18:14

Unless you come from a background where it is normally spelled with a k, c for me too. It's nice though.

Personally I'm not keen on Luka. I prefer plain old Luke.

But if you've chosen the name and you like it, then why take any notice of what others think?

exoticfruits · 26/08/2012 19:05

Luke is much nicer.

applepieinthesky · 26/08/2012 19:49

Nice name. Stick with it. This is why you shouldnt tell anyone the name until baby is here.

emilysmi · 26/08/2012 20:22

Lovely!

Flosie1989 · 26/08/2012 20:28

I think it's a great name but again with a C Smile

LondonInBoots · 27/08/2012 15:52

Luca is just lovely, but I'd agree on the spelling it with a c with the remarks above.

If you're really worried about what she'll think, just 'decide' on something AWFUL and insist, until 3 days after he's born then say you've changed your mind and his name is Luca (or Luka), she'll be so relieved she doesn't have to introduce her grandson Beelzebub Jaynesshor that she'll be convinced she suggested it in the first place and peace will be restored (I may be doing this with 'D'GM)

PinkChampagneandStrawberries · 27/08/2012 15:54

I like Luca but with a C as everyone else said

TiggerWearsATriteSmile · 27/08/2012 16:03

What's her issue with the name?
Luca is lovely, I like Lucas even.
(not Luka at all)

Luca Thomas is enough though, three names seems a mouthful
