Astrid or Tara ?

Trying to choose between Astrid and Tara... I'd be very grateful for any opinions!

I adore Astrid! I know the most gorgeous little girl called Astrid and I always think how beautiful her name is. It's unusual without being cutesie or pretentious. A difficult thing to find!

Astrid! I also wanted it but it was vetoed by DH. (Must be a name no man likes!)

Wow, that's great to hear - thank you. We love Astrid too but have no Scandi roots so weren't sure we should use it.

I always think of Tara from Buffy so that's a nice association but love astrid!!!!

I'm not really a fan of either,but I'd definitely choose Tara.

Astrid has a harsh,ugly sound. I don't know why it's so popular on MN.

prefer Tara and yes from Buffy!

I would vote for Tara - easier to pronounce for a non english speaker!

I'm not one for frilly, feminine names at all, but Astrid is so hard to my ears. Don't like it at all.

Tara is meh - so I'm guessing we just don't have very similar taste in names!

Asss Trid is one of the most disgusting names I can think of. Starts with ASS and the end is hard to say.

Tara has a much prettier sound to it. Astrid sounds kind of lumpy..

I love love love the name Astrid. Tara is a bit wishy-washy blah.
