How many of the same initial...

Can I have before it starts sounding like we did it on purpose?
My DD and I share the first initial of our names. Never really occurred to me when we were naming her. However DP goes by his middle name. His official first name starts with the same initial as mine and DDs (but not many people know it so not sure it counts)
Now looking at names for hypothetical DC2 and most of the girls names start in the sand initial! That would be too much wouldn't it?

I have a friend whose 4 children all share the same first initial!

I don't think it's too much if you love the name why not?

I got slated a few months ago for asking for suggestions for a name with the same initials as the other DC In the family. We suddenly realised that unintentionally they all had the same initials and I might have considered carrying it on if I could think of a nice combination. Funny thing was i wasnt asking for opinions on whether I should do it or not, just some nice suggestions. Someone said I would be buying into a 'lifetime of confusion and daily nightmare' Grin
I think it's a really nice idea and think you should go for it if you like it. Just be prepared for some rather over the top criticism along the way!

Duggars. That's a few too many J's.

I think if you, DP and DD share the same initial, then having another child with a different initial might make them feel left out. Nicer to all share the same letter. :)

My dad, myself and my 3 siblings all shared initials, it was funny when the post came sometimes but did us no harm Smile

GnocchiNineDoors · 20/08/2012 19:46

SIL, BIL and DN share the same initial. It is a bit funny Grin

Ohh Thank for the replies. The funny thing is I don't like one single boys name starting in that letter. So if the next baby is a boy it's gonna be left out anywaySad but glad to see everyone is not dead against a possible future DD sharing our initial
