i am looking for a middle name to go with florence. i would prefer a name that is quite modern and not ending in y, thanks ...

I was going to suggest Mabel but its not very modern.

thanks for all the great suggestions. have now decided i do not want a vowel as i dont want initials to spell a word, or kind of word. shame cause florence amelia sounds lovely. florence beatrice primrose is gorgeous too, but i have an idea of a more modern middle name x

I am 38 and I am a Florence. I am the oldest living Florence I know and until about 10 years ago it was a 'granny's name' but I love it. My middle names are Mary and Cecilia: one ends in y and both very trad. What nicknames are you expecting? I am usually Flo, which is nice now most people have forgotten the spinster aunt connotations.

i love the nn flossie, that is my favourite one. mary and cecilia are both sweet names, dont think either will get past dh's censor though. he is currently liking sarah, which is a pretty name, but i am not 100%. any suggestion you like would be great x
