We don't have long to go and I can't even decide what makes it onto the shortlist!!!

Ela = Eh-la
Ila = Eye-la
Isla = Ees-la
Eila = Ay-la

Ela.....Eh-la
Ila.....Eye-la
Isla ......Eye-la
Eila...Ee-la maybe, havent a clue!

Ela = Eh-lah
Ila = Eye-lah
Isla = Eye-lah
Eila = Eye-lah.

I'm assuming they're all variations of Isla?

The only one I recognise as a name is Isla= Eye-la

Ela - Eh-la
Ila- I-la (i as in did)
Isla- Eye-la

Ela- same as Ella (this is how you'd spell it in Welsh, I know a few)
Ila- Ee-la
Isla - Eye- la
Eila - Ey-la

Ela = ell-a
Ila = ee-la or eye-la
Isla = eye-la
Eila = eye-la or possibly ay-la

Sigh... Except for Isla all are Indian names, and both Ela and Ila are meant to be ee-lah... It looks like both of those will be mispronounced often!
Eila seems promising so far though as most of you have gone for eye-la, which is what it's meant to be

Eila is lovely. I actually don't mind the spelling and I'm usually an advocate for 'normal spelling'. I don't know if Isla or Eila is the 'normal' version but they're both beautiful. I wouldn't have pronounced Ela or Ila as ee-lah.

Eila is lovely and would be pronounced Eye-la in most languages (that I can think of).

Isla would be Eesla in German or Spanish, like the song by Madonna, La Isla Bonita.
