We haven't got long left and really struggling for names, so far we have tommy, Freddie or bobby but all 3 are becoming increasingly popular. I want a name that's not very popular but isn't overly strange any suggestions?

I don't understand this thing about names that "go with" other names. Just choose what you like. Besides Tommy is short for Thomas, Freddie is short for Frederick and Bobby is short for Robert, so if you choose any of those names everyone will assume that the name on the birth certificate is the "traditional" long name.

Well we have a grown up Maisie and a 12 year old George, which seem to 'go' together - although we didn;t think of the name with that in mind!

Edward/Eddie/Ed

That's funny, I was going to suggest George because it is my fav boys name, and I think it goes well with Maisie too. Smile

George (Georgie)
Charles (Charlie)
Henry

we don't call him georgie (unless I'm in 'embarrass my pre-teen' mode Grin ) Just think it's a good strong name.

The name that came to my mind was Felix.

Sophiesmummie · 16/08/2012 08:20

But that would make them Maisie Mouse and Felix the Cat Grin.

I thing George goes well with Maisie as well as John.

I think I'd avoid another 'ie' ending for the formal name, too cutesy and fluffy with two of them. What about:

Maisie and Edward
Maisie and George
Maisie and Rupert (Roo for nn - Maisie and Roo sounds soo gorgeous)
Maisie and Isaac
Maisie and Sam
Maisie and Oscar (this might be my favourite, but then this is probably because every little Oscar I've met has been adorable)

Off your list, I prefer Bobby, but give him the full name of Robert - Bobby is a hard name to carry off in your 30's, gives him the option to have "Professional name/family name".

Jacob (Jake)
Finlay (Finn)
Leo
Elijah (Eli)
Seth
Tobias (Toby)
Zachary (Zac)
