I am going to get accused of making this up but I swear on my wine that this is true. Today, as I left the supermarket my DS1 started running alongside the three DS's of another woman.

"Thomas, Gordon, Percy! Don't run please!"

I genuinely didn't know whether to laugh or cry. That cannot be an accident can it?

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 14/08/2012 13:39

Haha! I actually heard that DP's old boss used named from the Thomas books! I think they are older though, so they are not the only ones Grin

blueemerald · 14/08/2012 18:00

I knew a Henry, George and James who were named after hoovers Grin

CakeCrisis · 14/08/2012 18:12

Or perhaps they were playing trains and she had to call them their correct train names or there would be tantrums. [bitter experience emoticon]

OlympickingMyNose · 14/08/2012 18:16

I sometimes have to call my ds by the character he has chosen to be that day

AlwaysHoldingOnToStars · 14/08/2012 18:56

Or maybe she was MNer and having a laugh.

I tried it once and shouted out to Hansolo and Skywalker, but my kids gave the game away. Angry

GnocchiNineDoors · 14/08/2012 18:58

Someone on here once told of a set named Faith, Hope and Kevin.

tallslutnopanties · 14/08/2012 19:05

And I thought my husband was stupid to not want Edward for our second (Thomas is the eldest) because of the TV... obviously he must be a secret MNer

Kayano · 15/08/2012 10:16

Faith Hope and Kevin

I'm crying! Grin

duchesse · 15/08/2012 10:18

Faith Hope and Kevin smack of one parent naming one gender of child and the other, the other iyswim.

Lancelottie · 15/08/2012 10:18

I know a Thomas, Henry and Edward -- are you sue you didn't mishear her?

puds11 · 15/08/2012 10:18

Ah yes i remember faith hope and kevin. Thats my fave by far.

Llareggub · 15/08/2012 10:20

I have to call my boys Sam and Elvis and they call me Station Officer Steele.

BellaOfTheBalls · 15/08/2012 13:15

Definitely didn't mishear; she was less than 6 foot away from me. The littlest one had a football shirt on that said Percy on the back. I slowed down as she walked across the car park cause I was sure I had misheard but she called them over again.

It may have been trumped by Faith, Hope and Kevin however. Grin

My great uncles were called Bill and Ted!!!

coffeeandwine · 16/08/2012 21:24

I have a Thomas and Edward. Blush Hadn't realised until it was pointed out to me afterwards as DS1 was never into Thomas the Tank Engine. However, when we went on to have DS3, we really struggled with names. We really liked the name Henry but felt it was a step too far - so it's DS3's middle name instead. Grin

ratbagcatbag · 16/08/2012 21:27
