Very contemporary.

TimeWasting · 06/08/2012 21:01

Doesn't flow that well.

Very pretty, but common names.

nelly83 · 06/08/2012 21:05

Do u think Ruby Isabelle flows any better?

Lovely, and personally I think it flows very nicely :)

Ruby and Isabella are currently very popular.

Ham69 · 06/08/2012 21:08

It's very pretty, but I know of so many Rubys and Isabellas. If you don't mind that she'll be one of many in her class, then go for it. Otherwise, you might want to consider something slightly less popular.

Good for you Tough...glad you silently weep at other people's name choices.Hmm

FWIW I think it sounds pretty.

Isabella Ruby flows much better. It's the vowel sounds at the end of Ruby and beginning of Isabella that blend together and I always feel that longer names followed by shorter names work better.

Agree Isabella Ruby flows better. Pretty names but very popular as others have said.

imustbepatient · 07/08/2012 13:11

Really lovely names, just very popular as the other posters have said. Although there are probably regional fluctuations so there may not be many in your area, or equally their popularity may not bother you a jot!

Isabella was top of our list for quite a while until we realised how many there are near us - plus Issie does not sound good with our surname! A bit too close to Ossie Osbourne!

Both nice names, I think they flow well, but I wouldn't pick them personally as they are both sooooo popular. Especially Isabellas.
But, it's good that we don't all like the same things, so if you like them, go for it!

KTJane1 · 07/08/2012 13:42

Well said ! Names should be chosen because you love them ! I'm having my second child and I'm not telling anyone the name I've chosen till its born when I had my first child I ended up choosing a name that I liked, not loved cause of some strong opinions. 2 rules.......1 - Love the name, 2 - Rememeber they have it for the rest of their life.

nelly83 · 07/08/2012 14:24

Thanks for the feedback.

Isabelle is my fave name ever, always has been, but its a close relatives name and therefore I cant use it. Isabella as a first name is ruled out for that reason too. I am a teacher but have only ever met 2 Rubys in the last 8 years! having said that i know it is 9th in top 100 - obviously not many round here tho!

Other names we like are

Scarlett Isabelle
Amelia Isabelle
Lila Isabelle

These are the only ones we have agreed on .. so far! not sure where my like of Ruby has come from - never really liked it until now - maybe its my hormones!!

Any feedback on the above names or similar names would be very welcome. Thanks x

I think Lila is very pretty.

Nicer than Ruby or Isabelle, but that's only my opinion Grin
