Uninspired by Boys names - help!

DH and i really struggling to find any boys names that we agree on. We're not going to find out the sex and have plenty of ideas for girls names but when it comes to boys names we can't agree on any we both like. We both have quite traditional taste suggestions thus far:

Ralph (DH hates)
Nathaniel (DH not keen)
Samuel (DH thinks is ok)
Noah (DH likes- i'm not convinced)
Alexander (DH thinks ok)

Any ideas?

I love Alexander but hubby vetoed it.

Ralph is a wonderful name! , samuel is great too - and Sam.

I don't like nathanial or any nicknames for it.
Alex is very common where we are.
Noah is just not my cup of tea - too biblical!

And my DH likes to shorten names eg Alex and Sam, where as i would prefer to use full name on the whole (knowing inevitably in life their name will be shortened) but as a rule of thumb to use their complete given name!

Love Alexander-biased as have one!

I like Samuel the most, also Noah but I read a thread on another forum about someone who has 4 kids in their sons playgroup with that name so it looks like it's become very popular.

Already a Gabriel in family, John was my ex DH! I like Xavier but DH doesn't like, and i'm not keen on Isaac or Solomon. What about Flynn? I suspect DH will detest it when i suggest later

I have been trawling through the top 100 names of each decade since the turn of the century to see if there are any inspiring boys names. There's remarkably little change in names for boys. My other half and I appear to disagree on most potential names. I did like (and have always liked) Aaron, but it seems to be terribly popular at the moment and I would rather not go for a name that 3 other kids in class had, so to speak.

Xavier is also on my list. I had a french friend called Xavier for years and I always thought it was a lovely name.

How about something literary, like Haulden (Caulfield), or Boo (Radley)?

I love Samuel, but I am biased, also Nathaniel and the abbreviation Nate.

Ambrose?

You can"5 call an adult man Boo! You can, however, call one Arthur, which was Boo Radly's actual name

Baby names are obviously based on personal taste - my husband vetoed almost every boys name until we agreed on Charlie.

I like Samuel & Ralph, very Cute. I like Nathanial but I like Nathan too - especially when it is shortened to Nate - very big in America that name.

Seeker my dad was a Patrick and has been absent my entire life so a def no go! the Tramp those names are far too out there for my DH! But i thank you for your input

Haulden would be on my list but good friends of ours called their son Haulden. Beau was also on my list, but their daughter is called Bo.

Boys names really are tough. They are either the usual apostle based list (Matthew, Mark, Luke etc) or they seem to be really popular and so a bit common. And when you get a bit out there you just start to sound really pretentious.

There are a couple of celtic names that we have on our list, my other half is Irish and very keen on an Irish name. I am English and have explained that I am keen on an old English name (OK mostly I am winding him up, but the point stands).

Names I had on my list but have been discounted for various reasons - too popular or other half dislikes are:
