erm probably yes.

Bit close for siblings.

But that is just my opinion. They are both pretty names.

I think it is a bit too similar - and also would not like as my my in-laws areb continually going "heavens to Betsy"

They're not similar in style (Betsy is more cutesy) but they have similar sounds in them. Much prefer Bethany FWIW! What other names do you like?

Similar and a bit of a tongue-twister together, IMO. What about Elizabeth? Or another of its variants: Libby?

I like Elisabeth, but Betsy is the name I loveGrin! We also like Isabelle & I like Elsie but dh doesn't. Don't have any other names really!!

There is nothing wrong with Bethany and Betsy together titchy. A friend of mine has a Jessica and is naming her next daughter Jasmine. That's a similar 'problem' to yours to my ears.

But, the fact that they're 'matchy' names isn't an issue if it doesn't bother you. It doesn't bother my friend so it's their baby, their decision, no-one else's business. Same for you.

If you want to name your baby Betsy, then do. They won't always be living together as siblings and won't always be known as the sibset of Bethany and Betsy.

Beth and Betsy doesnt sound as tongue-twistery, either.

I'm not keen personally as Beth and Betsy are both short forms of elizabeth .... Bethany is a derivation of Beth. Both pretty names but not sure about having them both.....

I think so. I know a couple of people who have Bethany's shortened to Betsy too.

I love Elsie, ignore your DH! Wink
