I've finished with 3 dcs so this is hypothetical for me. i've just been reading a book about a girl called Dora and genuinely thought what a lovely name... untill a little cartoon popped into my head singing 'find the map'.

what other lovely names have been spoilt for you?

Christopher. Always one of my favourite boys names, and have a dear friend called it, then spoilt by a wanker of an ex-boss.

I also think Camilla is pretty but unusable.

I do think about jack the ripper.

Loads of names have been ruined by sick individuals.

Theodore- ted bundy. Freaks me out when i hear little kids called that!

John makes me feel sick, after john wayne gacy.

Charles is lovely too :(

Loads of murders with lovely names, it always sticks though.

Angela and Charlotte - never met a nice one (though am sure they exist).

I know two lovely, clever, Ethans. I hate Rosie and Vanessa because they were the cowbags who bullied me at high school. It's association at the end of the day. I have only ever seen naughty Callum, Liam, Kyle, Kylie, Mercedes and the like. Sad about Alfie comments. DS1 is Alfie, but he is named after DH's friend who passed away who was like a father to him. My Alfie is beautiful, but I'm biased! I love Meredith, sad about Kercher, but understand why anyone would choose it, it's a lovely name.

Emma - it was the name of three mean girls at school. But it's lovely.

Taryn was on my list of potential future girls names, but now someone I know has just had a boy called Taran, and her life is like an episode of Jeremy Vile, so that's ruined it for me.

Heidi is DHs favourite girls name, but to me it's the name of a Sugababe Blush

And I loved Iona, but then DH thinks it's too open to 'I own her' interpretations, so that's out too.

I quite like Sebastian, but that's the name of the sandwich company that do the rounds on our business park and it's been ruined by the hollers of 'Sebaaaastiaaaaaaaaanssss!!!' when the van arrives Grin

I swear, there will be no names left by the time we do eventually/ever have another baby!

Crocodilesmiles

Well, thanks for that link about Amelia Dwyer just before bedtime! Bloomin' eck. What a horrifying story. Sweet dreams.
