Rose, Frances or Eleanor?

DH and I are really struggling to agree on girls names! We're not finding out the sex of the baby and have a handful of boys names that we agree on, but both have an absolute favourite for a girl that we're not wanting to budge on.

DH really wants Frances - his grandmother's name. I like the name, but don't love it: it seems a bit boring.

Meanwhile, I adore Eleanor. While we would probably call the baby Nell (a family name in my family), we wouldn't be too worried if she was nicknamed Ellie as we're not living in England at the mo and it's not a common name here.

Middle name for either of these options would be Rose: my middle name that also has a very strong family connection.

A possible compromise would be to call the baby Rose (I love the nickname Rosie as well), middle name Frances.

Other possible options floated have been Poppy and Stella, but neither of us love these as strongly as we love our favourite names.

What does everyone think of our three posible names? Any other suggestions along the same vein?

Eleanor Frances is nice or even Eleanor Frances Rose. Don't know your last name tho

Or Francesca instead of Frances?

My favourite of yours is Eleanor tho.

If you really don't want Frances, then I think you need to make it clear to DH that you need to think about other names.

It should be something that you both want.

I think it would be nice to use it as a middle name after his grandmother, and you can both make a list of possible first names that you love. Make a list each on your own and then compare them. You might even have some the same. :)

My sister's name is Eleanor Frances - I think it's gorgeous and she has always loved her name. But I don't think you can go wrong with any combination of those names. If it were me I'd probably go with Rose Frances Eleanor.

Thanks everyone! I really like the suggestion of Rose Frances Eleanor: now to convince DH...
