You should all just call your babies whatever you want if you love a certain name! Who cares if it's too popular/common/cute/posh/etcetcetc!!

Proud mother to a ds who has a popular and cutesy name (which I love and is always in the 'bad name' threads)

I agree :)

It's the baby who will live with the name. So you might want to consider whether naming your child Fred or Jane instead of Pilot Inspektor or Jermajesty will make any difference to them.

Totally agree, OP, but within reason - echoing VolAuVent here!

For celebrities it's different, most of their children have crazy names. It would probably be more crazy for them to have dc with the name John or Ann.

Isn't there a happy medium between 'crazy' and 'dull/overused'?

I quite agree OP, but somehow I feel the need to hear these opinions before settling on a name, just in case I have missed something (and it turns out that I often have) that would really bother me later.
The critics you have listed are not the kind that would put me off a name I love, in fact, they are a mere description, nothing negative.

Equally proud Mom to a DS who has a "strong", "old" British name and Mom-to-be (in 3 weeks time!) to a DC2 who will in any case have a "posh", "frilly", "poncey" name - so what?

I agree. I honestly never mentioned baby names to anyone other than dh when choosing those for our 3dc. I find it very odd that people seek out opinions of others and in RL find that quite the opposite is true. With the exception of 2 couples, all our friends and family have kept the choice of name or even the possible shortlist to themselves until
Baby has arrived. I also think that even the ugliest of names (in terms of word alone) can suddenly seem much more pleasing when attached to a newborn
