Hmmm, time to start browsing this forum I think! Do you know the gender of the baby?

woopsidaisy · 17/07/2012 09:36

No, LimeLeaf, and I have been browsing this site for months!

We like Ted for a boy (Edward), it is the girl name that is stumping us....

If you have any relatives, particularly young ones, its a good idea to ask

In your position, I'd get a copy of this book by Laura Wattenberg: The Baby Name Wizard. (You can have a look inside here - www.amazon.co.uk/The-Baby-Name-Wizard-Magical/dp/0767917529/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342514202&sr=8-1.) The author concentrates on style families, which is useful for working out what sort of names you might like, and also suggests sibling names. This might be useful for you if you've already got two children. The companion web site is also quite useful - www.babynamewizard.com.

What might help us to suggest names you might like is if you tell us your preferences and requirements (have a look here - swistlebabynames.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/baby-naming-issue-preferences-vs.html) and perhaps what your children are called. This will give us an idea of your naming style.

Otherwise, I recommend you look here, at www.behindthename.com, at www.nymbler.com, www.nameberry.com, at www.britishbabynames.com, and at www.appellationmountain.net. Nameberry.com is a good starting point.

Ah, thanks for all the suggestions ladies! Was venting really. I have done quite a few "what do you think of these name" threads over the pregnancy. But we still haven"t agreed on a name!
Stellan I will have a look at those links.

I like lots of the names suggested above-but DH doesn't! And vice versa. Maybe I need a new DH....Grin?
