What do you think of Sage for a boy?

I'm not one for strange names but actually kind of like it... he'd need to be quite brainy though, or a cook!

hypoxia · 16/07/2012 20:44

Cute, but I prefer Basil. I'm going to call my next pet Basil, I have no idea why it hasn't returned as a MN name for boys

AgathaTrunchbull · 16/07/2012 20:44

Stallone's dead son, but no one will remember that. Quite cool!

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 16/07/2012 20:45

Paxo?

MammaTonic · 16/07/2012 20:46

I've always really, really liked it :)

Dreadful, sorry

missingmymarbles · 16/07/2012 21:18

I know a really cool sageSmile

Geranium3 · 16/07/2012 21:19

SORT OF NAME I WOuld normally dislike but there is something quite cute about it, a good name for a slightly built, baby/toddler with longish fair hair with hippy parents!

scummymummy · 16/07/2012 21:20

My now 13 year old twins went to baby group with a girl Sage. She was v cute.

LuellaLovesLavender · 16/07/2012 21:20

Oooohhh missing marbles......is it a boy or girl sage ( as it seems to be unisex) and what kind if reactions do they get to their name??? Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/07/2012 21:22

Oh dear, no. Use it as a mn if you must but as a first name, it's pretty dreadful imho.

missingmymarbles · 16/07/2012 21:24

BoySmile
He is a lovely lad, and afaik, he gets positive reactions. He is American, though, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

IawnCont · 16/07/2012 21:33

Love it. And I don't usually like weird names.

turboorange · 16/07/2012 21:35

Sage is nice, sounds a bit more suitable for a girl IMO but could make a really interesting middle name?

VolAuVent · 16/07/2012 21:48

I quite like it. Reminds me of nostalgic children's programmes - Sage was the owl in The Herbs :)

PenisVanLesbian · 16/07/2012 21:50

Bit too hippyish for my tastes.

pictish · 16/07/2012 22:18

In like it.

nilbyname · 16/07/2012 22:21

I know a Sage. Super cool semi pro snowboarder, he has a younger sister called Missy. LIKE

littlemissbroody26 · 16/07/2012 22:30

i love the name sage :)

KOTK · 16/07/2012 22:30

Love it. But I'm very in touch with my inner hippy so I wouldn't trust my judgement if you're on the Boden-esque end of the spectrum.

FunnysInLaJardin · 16/07/2012 22:32

I like it. Plus my old cat was called Basil so anything herby is good with me.

SLVC · 16/07/2012 22:39

I actually quite like it, but right now I think Stallone..

LuellaLovesLavender · 16/07/2012 22:39

Great responses so far Smile I thought it was going to be slated!! Trying to persuade my dh now Wink

As long as his full name is Sage Moonblood (the name of Stallone's son)
it would be fine
