Coralie

I was looking through some family history records the other day for inspiration and came across a Coralie.

I have suggested Coral on here in the past and it was slated but I wonder if this would be a nice alternative. Or is it a bit twee and naff?

I have never heard it before...what do we think. Dd1 is called Jemima if that makes a difference.

I had a friend at school called Coralie and always thought it was beautiful. Go for it!

VolAuVent · 16/07/2012 15:35

Coralie and Coral are both very pretty names :)

wannabedomesticgoddess · 16/07/2012 15:44

Coralie is a french name and I have loved it for years. Coral is lovely too :)

FuckerSnailInYourHedgerow · 17/07/2012 22:01

Popular enough in France. I like it.

HuggyPomBear · 17/07/2012 22:18

Love itSmile

zxcv123 · 17/07/2012 22:24

It's a name in my family too (French connection). I never heard anyone else with this name growing up, but I've seen it suggested on here a few times recently, so perhaps it's going to become popular. I suppose it's similar to other French names which the Brits have adopted recently- Amelie, Ottilie etc

The Coralie in my family is always shortened to Corrie.

I think Jemima and Coralie go together very well.

DottieRose · 17/07/2012 23:38

Coralie is a beautiful name and it goes very well with Jemima!!

SauvignonBlanche · 18/07/2012 08:28

I think they are lovely names but coral is a bit unusual

Thanks all - just need to work on dh now Grin
Quick question about pronunciation... Is it corra-lee or corah-lee?

OP posts:
Dogsmom · 18/07/2012 19:17

Until you mentioned pronounciation I read it as corra-lee, the other way sounds like a hyphenated name 'Cora-Leigh'

ellesabe · 18/07/2012 19:26

Yes I would definitely want it to be pronounced Corra-lee and I'm not sure if it would be mispronounced...

OP posts:
VolAuVent · 18/07/2012 19:37

Corra-lee

I don't like Cora so wouldn't like Cora-lee.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 18/07/2012 20:22

Love Coral, Cora, Coralie.

LegoAcupuncture · 18/07/2012 20:30

Coralie is a lovely name, I know one and she is the most loveliest person I know.

Leeds2 · 18/07/2012 21:01

Coralie is lovely.

ellesabe · 15/08/2012 21:09

Thanks everyone. I'm back to say that I have a YES from dh!!!!!

This is a small miracle :)

Now we just need a middle name. I'm thinking 1 syllable with a nice meaning. Any suggestions? So far I have thought of Grace, Joy, Faith...
