so, dh and I are still arguing discussing names.

it wasn't this hard for the other 3, so no idea why we are struggling this time

anyway, first boy (obviously we find girls easier to name!), and we are finding it hard.

like names like Edward (can't use because of alliteration with surname), Dominic (don't like the shortenings, and also alliteration with surname).

so, thus far our short list is:

Caspar (or maybe Caspian - we are torn)
Arthur
Phillip

dh likes Octavian but I am putting my foot down on that one!

oh, fgs. am really going round in circles with this one

I suggested that the Beatrice/Benedict shouldn't be done precisely because of the literary reference.

Perhaps if there wasn't already a third child in the mix with a non-Much-Ado name it might be different.

amcks - it would be a bit odd to name a brother and sister after characters whose relationship is famously marked by sexual tension and sparring...

Love Arthur would have been one of my top choices but my OH doesn't like old fashioned names- love Albert too, good luck choosing :)

I like all three names but I would probably go for Arthur because I love the nn Artie.
Philip is a very nice name too but I am not keen on the nn "Pip" (sounds like the French slang for bj..)
Caspar is DH's name and he really is having a hard time to remain CaspAr and not CaspEr (the friendly ghost) in the US.

Fwiw, DH's siblings are: Theodore, Archibald, Peregrine, Allegra and Viola
