What do people think of this? It's not very common nowadays (is it?!)

OP posts:

LexieSinclair · 10/07/2012 13:17

It's common where I live. But I love it.

tammy234 · 10/07/2012 13:18

Yes, I know quite a few Joes.

PaddingtonBare · 10/07/2012 13:21

We nearly talked ourselves out of it as we were worried it might be too popular but are really glad we followed our instincts and used it. Never, ever regretted it - it's popular/enduring rather than popular/trendy iykwim. Only ever met one other where we live.

VolAuVent · 10/07/2012 13:27

It's fairly popular but it's definitely classic enough to stand the test of time :) Not faddy at all, a great old Biblical name.

fondantfancier · 10/07/2012 13:28

Fab name.
Everso slightly biased.
It is still common, but as it's always been popular it doesn't seem to evoke any nasty faddy/posh/trendy/chavvy comments.

hefner · 12/07/2012 14:47

I think it's a lovely name, and I haven't met any Josephs at the baby groups I go to.

randomimposter · 12/07/2012 14:58

I know of maybe 3 under 5, but only one locally IYSWIM.

Love the name Joseph, and Joe too. But sadly it's too like my own name to use, although I don't think of them the same (if that makes any sense at all Hmm).

Use it!

Ham69 · 12/07/2012 16:07

I do like the name but I know of at least 7 Josephs and a couple of Joes. However, just because it's popular here, doesn't mean to say it will be as popular where you are.

skippy84 · 12/07/2012 16:12

Love it

darkfever · 12/07/2012 16:18

I think it's a lovely classic boys name. I don't know any little Josephs.

Mobly · 12/07/2012 16:30

I think it's a gorgeous name, but I am biased. It is quite popular (top 20 not top 10) if you check the statistics but classic names usually are.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 12/07/2012 16:35

Love it - my DS has it as his middle name. It is fairly popular but in a timeless way I think.

mum47 · 12/07/2012 17:26

My ds1 is a Joseph - where live is not common. I absolutely adore it, and always feel really proud that we chose it for some reason! (an not some of the - on reflection- dodgier alternatives I hormonally considered!)

Jackie432 · 13/07/2012 08:14

Love Joseph, my nephew is a Joseph and gets called Joey - his mum really didn't like him to be nn'd Joey when she named him but it really suits him.

Littlecherublegs · 13/07/2012 10:36

Love love love the name Joseph!! My favourite at the mo!

I have a Joseph. I only know 2 others.

hypoxia · 13/07/2012 14:56

Lovely name, 'common' but classy and won't ever go out of fashion

Krumbum · 13/07/2012 15:19

Very popular name. Bit dull. By fiancées name is joe and he makes fun of my unusual name so I must say his is boring Grin
