Poppy?

41 weeks today with DC3, DH set on Poppy but I could still change my mind, she will not have a middle name.

I also like Summer and Grace, any other suggestions?

Poppy Summer or Poppy Grace would both be great :)

DawnOfTheDee · 10/07/2012 12:16

I think Poppy's ok but I much prefer Summer. Grace isn't my favourite and is very popular at the moment (not sure if that would affect your decision or not).

DawnOfTheDee · 10/07/2012 12:17

Are you having a middle name too? Is that already agreed on?

cheesesarnie · 10/07/2012 12:17

love poppy and grace. not keen on summer

PrettyInDecadence · 10/07/2012 12:18

Oops just re-read your OP. I would go for Poppy myself.

BreeVanDerTramp · 10/07/2012 12:20

No middle name, her brothers are Oliver and Toby, Oliver wasn't that popular when we named him, although it is now it doesn't bother me.

Sorry! Didn't read the op properly either. Summer's still my fave Smile

PoppyWearer · 10/07/2012 12:33

I think Poppy's a lovely name Grin.

(Not my RL name, BTW.)

AnnaNimitty · 10/07/2012 12:53

Poppy and Summer both sound 'summery' but why no middle name?

Littlecherublegs · 10/07/2012 12:55

I like Grace best out of the 3 though it is popular.

Poppy and Summer are sweet too though.

Congrats!

DottieRose · 10/07/2012 13:00

I think Poppy is just gorgeous, much much better than Summer or Grace! Actually if my ds had been a dd he would have been Poppy!! However I think you should have a middle name as when she grows up and other kids are talking about their middle names will she feel left out??

tammy234 · 10/07/2012 13:03

Isn't Poppy a nickname like Poppet? I personally prefer Summer and Grace although the latter has been very popular recently.

BreeVanDerTramp · 10/07/2012 13:17

anna we have a ridiculously long surname and because of this have tried to keep DC's names as short as possible.

VolAuVent · 10/07/2012 13:31

Love all those names and any combination would work :)

WithACherryOnTop · 10/07/2012 15:29

Poppy is very nice. I prefer Summer then Grace, but you can't go wrong with any of them imho.

BreeVanDerTramp · 12/07/2012 06:21

Thanks everyone I think we have settled on Poppy, being induced tomorrow so can't wait to meet her over the weekend Grin

wigglesrock · 12/07/2012 07:32

Poppy is lovely, good luck for induction tomorrow and have a lovely and very exciting weekend Grin

winkle2 · 12/07/2012 07:38

Poppy Summer is just lush!

CheerfulYank · 12/07/2012 07:50

Good luck!

I do love Poppy but short for something like Penelope, however Iris is also a flower and a name on its own like Rose, so why not Poppy?

Grace is lovely.

Summer...I didn't think I liked it, but it is actually quite nice isn't it?

justhayley · 12/07/2012 12:16

My friend just had a poppy and it really suits her - although I do wonder what it would be like to be called poppy as an adult. I would personally give her a stronger middle name so that she could use it instead if she wanted to when all grown up.

Pickles77 · 12/07/2012 14:06

I love poppy im planning to use it too Grin

Pancakeflipper · 12/07/2012 14:08

I like Poppy for a young child but I am not sure it suits an adult ( unless a very dainty adult who has that childlike look).

MammaTonic · 12/07/2012 14:12

I like Poppy; it's cute and girly but I'm not convinced as to how it would suit a 30+ woman. Summer is nice but has a similar problem IMO.

Grace is one of my favourite names ever. Although popular now, it's timeless and classic.

All are lovely names, though. Good luck with the birth!!

Emmeric · 12/07/2012 14:12

Poppy is a gorgeous name.
Good luck!

BeattieBow · 12/07/2012 14:18

Poppy is the nicest of the 3 - I have one so I am a bit biased. She is 11 now and loves her name.

But it is her middle name, so she does have an alternative name to use which is less flowery iyswim.
