I like it Smile

Mintyy · 10/07/2012 12:17

Gorgeous!

birdofthenorth · 10/07/2012 12:18

I like it. I didn't used to, used to find it stiff, no idea why when it's meaning is so jubilant. Now I've thought about it myself. I like Hope and Faith too.. altough obvously not for triplets!!

cheesesarnie · 10/07/2012 12:18

lovely!

AnnaNimitty · 10/07/2012 12:22

Can a name really be 'gorgeous'? Please calm down and - er - get a life???

Mintyy · 10/07/2012 12:22

Oh do fuck off Anna.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 10/07/2012 12:23

Minty Grin

AnnaNimitty · 10/07/2012 12:27

Sorry but you did ask for it!!!

tethersend · 10/07/2012 12:28

Love it.

attheendoftheday · 10/07/2012 12:29

I like Joy.

AnnaNimitty · 10/07/2012 12:33

You guys really do need to get out more - haha

FoxyRevenger · 10/07/2012 12:35

Mmm I always think it's one of those names where there's pressure on the person to embody the meaning. So a Joy would always have to be happy or the irony would be too much to bear...

TiddlyBears · 10/07/2012 12:35

I had the nicest possible midwife called Joy!

PepperOnMyPaprikash · 10/07/2012 12:36

Lovely

tethersend · 10/07/2012 12:38

I'm off to post on the camping topic to tell them all to get a roof.

cheesesarnie · 10/07/2012 12:51

Grin tethers

VolAuVent · 10/07/2012 13:36

Very nice and underused as a first name - it's one of those 1-syllable names that gets put in the middle instead.

MrsJohnDeere · 10/07/2012 13:39

Lovely and underused.

MoonHare · 10/07/2012 16:46

I like it, but I've known a couple of real life grown-up Joy's and they were completely miserable and bitter types - maybe it was the pressure to live up to their name?!?

baskingseals · 10/07/2012 21:52

really really like it.
i did think about it for dd, and wish i'd gone for it

lovely name.

nizlopi · 11/07/2012 08:46

Thats my name :D

Ive noticed on here when Joy gets suggested, one of the things people say is 'Ooh, its a bit too hard to live up to!' but I can honestly say, no one has ever been enough of a dickhead when Ive been upset or angry about something to say 'Thats not very Joyful!'.

I get complimented on my name all the time. I think more people should use it ;)

MulberryMoon · 11/07/2012 21:37

Joy is nice but not Joyce. (Not that you asked about Joyce.)

yellowflowers · 11/07/2012 22:50

I love it. Dh vetoed.

TuesdayNightClub · 12/07/2012 16:02

I think it is lovely and have only ever known really lovely people called Joy.

Jackie432 · 13/07/2012 08:11
