What do people think of Kitty (Katherine)?

Really like the idea of Kitty if we have a girl -am I setting her up for a school life of teasing if I do?

I love it and think it's rather cool.

I love it as a NN, especially for Kathleen (I much prefer this to Katherine)

I love Katherine but don't like Kitty(cat).

Kate is far nicer.

I like Kitty, but I only like Catherine, dislike Katherine. Dunno why.

I think it's fab. I knew one who was a wonderful, feisty, old-schoolish lady -- she had been a war bride and moved to the US but had never lost her native British (Liverpool) forthrightness, or her lovely charm either. She was quite old when I first met her but she was a force to be reckoned with.

Love both the long name and nickname...but it's always Katharine with a k in our house, not a C! (my mum is Katharine).

Spooky... was thinking today that if I ever have a girl would love to call her Kitty. Love, love, love it!!! Not sure about Katherine is there any other name it could be shortened from?
