My boy names list....

Mobly · 02/07/2012 15:10

Opinions please-
Edward
Reuben
Samson
Dylan
Sebastian
Alexander

I am having a third boy... which is lovely, but I'm struggling for names that I really really love. Ds1 & 2 have traditional biblical names. They begin with a j and b, which rules out those initials.

Any suggestions/opinions would be great.

For me, Reuben. I love that name so much. Or Alexander, also gorgeous.
Congrats!!!

WookieWoo · 02/07/2012 16:32

Fab list! Not too keen on Samson but all the other names are gorgeous. I have an Alexander and a very new 6 day old Sebastian so may be biased towards these two names. But I do also love Reuben...it doesn't go with our surname unfortunately. Congrats on boy #3!

VolAuVent · 02/07/2012 16:51

In order of preference...

Alexander - like, classic
Samson - great, I like this and it makes a change from Samuel
Edward - nice classic name, not particularly keen on Ed/Ted/Ned/Teddy though
Dylan - like
Sebastian - OK
Reuben - OK, a bit too much like rueful

ellesabe · 02/07/2012 16:53

Would you consider Solomon if you wanted to keep the biblical theme? I LOVE it but can't use it as it rhymes with my surname!

TodaysAGoodDay · 02/07/2012 16:55

I like Alexander or Reuben

zogdog · 02/07/2012 16:56

Reuben and Alexander are my favourites from your list. Samson? no.

timetoask · 02/07/2012 16:58

I love Reuben! lovely name

lovechoc · 02/07/2012 17:11

Reuben. But I'm biased!

WithACherryOnTop · 02/07/2012 17:18

Edward is ok.
Love Reuben.
Adore Samson
I don't like Dylan
Love Sebastian
Love Alexander

treadonthecracks · 02/07/2012 17:30

I like Edward (Edwin?) I would shorten it to Ted. Couldn't have it with our surname.

I love Alexander.

Like Sebesatian

I love Reuben, but not sure I would be brave enough myself...

TiddlyBears · 02/07/2012 17:33

I like Dylan, very much so.

dreamingofsun · 02/07/2012 17:48

Edward - like, classic, various nicknames, would have liked
Reuben - no
Samson - no sounds chavy
Dylan - yes
Sebastian - love, espec seb, would have been ours but husband said too posh
Alexander - bit boring and very popular

also have 3 boys - last name is a nightmare!!

Ruprekt · 02/07/2012 17:51

Edward - dull dull dull

Reuben - like it

Samson - bit too Biblical for me!

Dylan - Not keen

Sebastian - Too many tricky boys called this at DD's school

Alexander - Love it

Alexander Reuben is lovely

Also like Eli, Micah, Jude and Noah

mayanna123 · 03/07/2012 10:09

Edward - dull
Reuben - lovely
Samson - lovely but might end up as Sam (there are lots of them already)
Sebastian - lovely but dislike Seb/Sebbie or Bastian (bastard)
Alexander - dull and there are lots of male and female Alex's already
Dylan - lovely

birdofthenorth · 03/07/2012 12:42

Really like all of these (Sebastian slightly less so but I don't dislike it). Reuben or Dylan my favourites. Alexander is surprisingly popular (not surprising because it's not nice! Just because I don't see heaps araound but found out it's pretty high up the charts).

Also like Elijah, Mark, Simeon, Luke.

PatsyPlusOne · 03/07/2012 12:44

Love Reuben and Dylan, not so sure about the others.

Ebb · 03/07/2012 13:42

I love Reuben, Dylan and Alexander. Reuben Alexander is nice.

Littlecherublegs · 03/07/2012 13:46

In order of preference:

Sebastian - really like this
Alexander - like this, prefer Alex
Samson - Ok, and better than Samuel though not keen on Sam
Reuben - ok
Dylan - not a massive fan
Edward - dont like Ed / Eddie / Ted / Teddy

Booette · 03/07/2012 13:57

Edward - nice, but quite erm, plain. For me that is.
Reuben - lovely, lovely name (biased as I have one!)
Samson - not too keen
Dylan - nice, but very popular
Sebastian - love it
Alexander - love it, but it's also quite popular

squeak2392 · 06/07/2012 17:20

Favourites are Edward and Alexander.
Reuben and Sebastian are okay.

suburbandream · 06/07/2012 17:53

Samson - will get shortened to Sam of course
Dylan - I love it but it will get constantly spelled wrong (Dillon) and there are already a lot of children (and dogs!) around with that name
Alexander - love it but is v.popular and of course will get shortened too.

Emmeric · 07/07/2012 09:47

Reuben. Definitely. I know one, a grown up one, and people are always commenting on how much they like his name, he got this as a child and now as a grown up he still gets comments.
I like your other names too.

mumtoacub · 07/07/2012 18:21

I love sebastian my bump was called seb up to the minute he was born then went for the biblical J name I suspect you may have picked for you other son!!

diddl · 07/07/2012 18:34

Like Reuben & Dylan.

Which would go best?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/07/2012 20:57

I like Edward, Dylan and Sebastian. Samson is terrible.
