Name crisis

DH is Welsh. I am English. We live in England. We have one DD who has a welsh name and want a welsh name for DD2 due next week. We have been fixed on the name Seren for ages as we both love it but now I'm getting worried that people might think she's named after the purple bat on Abadas on Cbeebies. Clearly if it were a boy and Harry/Hari it would never have occurred to me.

AIBU?

I think you're okay! Seren's lovely.

I doubt enough people watch Abadas to think that. And it won't be around as a programme for long.

I have never even heard of Abadas (and I have a Cbeebies watching 3yr old) ...or the purple bat...so not to worry! It's a pretty obscure reference...don't worry!

I don't think you need to worry! I think Seren is a top 10 name in Wales and I think, being Welsh, you can easily say that's where you heard it first!

Never heard of Abadas or a purple bat so I wouldnt worry - it certainly wouldnt be the first thing I think fo when I hear the name Seren!

I think its a lovely name Smile

Seren is my DDs middle name. It's getting more and more common back in Wales. We are in London. No-ones ever mentioned Abadas but they frequently pronounce it Serene!

I love Abadas. I love Seren in Abadas. Her little song makes me happy. Seren is a lovely name. I think you should go for it. :)

It's a lovely name - go for it!
