Baby Boys Names

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby, we had loads of names we loved for a girl but none for a boy! (of course we are expecting a baby boy)

I love Harrison and quite like Ethan (surname is Craig)

What do people think?

I love names like Archie etc as well but they are getting increasingly common again now.

What have you picked for your baby boy?

xx

I think both Harrison and Ethan sound great with Craig, although there are 4 Harrisons in DS2's class so I'm not sure if it's popular everywhere.

If we have a boy we are keen on Jeremy, James, Sebastian, Dominic :)

Harrison is awful apart from as a surname. Tacky. The others are fine though.

NattyCraig · 27/06/2012 10:20

Tacky? Never heard that before... I think names like Connor, Tyler, Daniel are tacky but liked Harrison as I haven't heard it used much. Plus as baby has a first name as a last name I think it works well.

It's subjective. I agree with a previous poster that Harrison is tacky, but if you don't think it is and like it, then don't worry. FWIW I am surprised that you think Daniel is tacky, so our experiences of names seems different.

Ethan is nice, but I do know 5 pre-school Ethans so it's quite widely used here (W Mids).

CPtart · 27/06/2012 11:00

I know 4 Ethans and 1 Harrison (who is really naughty).

Howabout
Adam

Love Dominic too

I love Ethan.

Harrison is ok.

I don't like Archie at all.

What's tacky about Daniel btw? It's a classic name.

NattyCraig · 27/06/2012 11:08

I just think Daniel is a really chavvy name (especially where I live) all the Daniels I know of are tracksuit wearing, beer swilling, jobless louts... It just makes me think of tracksuits.

Ah but in most other places those 'Daniels' tend to be the parents of Harrison. Grin
I have to admit I've never met a Daniel like that though.

WithACherryOnTop · 27/06/2012 11:50

I suppose it does depend on the area. But to me a Daniel is an accountant,a lawyer,a banker,a manager,a doctor. He could be a mechanic, a salesman anything really. It's a very neutral name,at least imho.

Ethan and Harrison are both quite trendy where I live and there are loads of Archie, Alfies, so I'd go for something else if you don't want a name that's too common. But if you really like a name i'd say just go for it!

tammytoby · 27/06/2012 12:53

There are FAR too many little Archie/Alfies out there imo. I'd go for a more classic name that won't date.

I like Nathan, Ethan, Quentin, Tristan or how about Dominic?
