Just thought Id start a thread to see any names which might have a special meaning? My partner and I concieved our DS in Philadelphia, America, and we'd gone over there to watch the basket ball team play. Partners fav player is called Allen Iverson, unfortunately we didn't get to see him play, but once we found out I was pregnant, we decided we wanted him/her to have part of their name to do where they were concieved, so we decided to have Iverson as his middle name! We think it has a really nice ring for his whole name, and its a special memory to us too :)

DS has my grandfathers name as a middle name. He was the nicest person I have ever met, he always had time for his family and was the best grandad I could have hoped for.
DD's middle name turned out to be a family name on DH's side, but that is a co-incidence, as we had no idea until his Aunt told us she had the same name as a middle name. The Aunt sadly passed away when DD was 10 months old.

Our road to pregnancy wasnt easy so although my baby isn't born yet, I feel really strongly that our DC name should be special and meaningful reflecting how we feel about the news. Our favourites mean: happiness, joy and love.

My DDs first name is a female version of my grandads name. He died before I was even an itch but he means a lot to my dad so thought it was fitting.

Her middle name is Cliodhna (pronounced klaina) which in irish mythology was the queen of the banshees. That wasnt why I picked it, but let me tell you, she certainly lives up to it :o

My name means warrior in three different languages. Coincidence, mum says it was meant to due to my hard life. :)

My mum is the youngest of six sisters. When she was born, Pa declared he would never have a son and she would be named after him. (The feminine version.)

She was always the favourite Grin

If DC is a boy his middle name will be dp's father's name. He passed away a few years ago. Strangely the current EDD is also dp's father's birthday.

My son is Frederick after my grandad who was my absolute hero when I was little.

We're still deciding for son number 2 but are heading towards Albert as that is my husband's grandfather.

My DD is named after my great grandmother who died a month before her 100 birthday. It's also happens to be my Grandmother middle name and my middle name.

My Grandmother was utterly delighted. On the plus side it's a name everyone in our family can pronounce and spell Grin

My DD's middle name is my mother's middle name and it is beautiful. It means pleasant. Her first name is Italian and it means dedicated to God or beautiful. We honeymooned in Italy and loved the place so decided to give her an Italian name. The name suits her..Basically she is a pleasant beautiful little girl dedicated to God''.

DS is named after an extraordinary and lovely man I have been friends with for many years.
Since DS was born the name's got really popular. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

DD1's name is after the queen of Sheba, her middle name is Celtic to reflect her mixed heritage. Both her names refer to warrior queens.

DD2's name means 'the heavens are calm', chosen because her older sister seems to have taken on the attributes of her name originators and I hoped choosing a calm name would lead to a chilled out baby, so far it is working :) Her middle names are the first and middle name of my MIL who sadly passed away when I was pregnant with her.

I'm gonna jump in, even though my names relate to as yet unborn DC's! (we are TTC at the moment!)
Originally we used to talk about Little H and Little A (our initials!) but then we started actually TTC when in Canada so they morphed into Louise (we were at Lake Louise for a while) and then Revy/Revelstoke (another place we stayed at)
Although they're not actually names that I would want in real life I have a wierd feeling they may end up as middle names, because its as if they have become 'personalities' with those names when we talk about our hoped for future family...
