I love Benedict and Laurence.

Too many Wilfreds/Wilfs
Maximus = Gladiator
Elliot, just don't like so much.

Laurence is also on our shortlist, so all in favour!

Wilfred's quite nice, although increasingly common. Maximus... being called 'greatest' is quite a lot to live up to! Elliot's dull. Benedict is lovely.

I love Elliot- its on our short list but so far most people on here have poo-poo'd it!

I am not a fan of the others.

gabbymum · 10/06/2012 20:38

I really like Elliot too Kosher - I think it's a modern classic and it's probably my fave but I've still not decided 100 percent which is why I'm interested in the views of the mumsnet jury! Any other thoughts?

Well i know of none of those andhave moved counties twice in the last year - so thats a thumbs up to none of them being too common.

out of your list my personal taste would be

Elliot and Maximus (i love Max as an nn, BUT sadly we have too many pets in the family called Max)

tammy234 · 10/06/2012 20:53

Love Elliot and Lawrence (not Laurence which is the female form of Laurent).

Benedict may become Bendy-dick (the one I knew did Blush).

Maximus is nice but may end up as Max which is quite common and a little dull imo.

We wanted Maximus as we had just watched Gladiator! and we went with Max in the end.

Max thinks it is the greatest name in the world! Easy to spell, not many in school and he would not want any other name ever!
