Hugo, Isaac or Oscar?

We just found out yesterday we're having another boy so have been brainstorming names. We already have a Dylan Benjamin with a very common surname beginning with B.

So far we're thinking,

Hugo Thomas
Isaac James
Oscar (not decided on middle name yet but prob one of the above)

Any preferences?

Hector, as there are so many children in our local school with those names.

Lovely names.

StepOutOfSpring · 09/06/2012 16:08

Isaac James is my favourite, or how about James Isaac?

We have a Hugo and everyone loves it. Although they were Hmm at first.

We call him Hugs or Hugzy for short. DM calls him Baby Hugs (and probably still will when he's 21!)

Love Isaac too. Ike for short. Was considering it for DS2 (Hugo) but had to rule it out as DS1 is Jacob!

We love James as a first name Step but our surname rules it out for us - think rather famous soul singer, or even twattish hairdresser that Kate Moss hangs about with.

None of the names are common at all where we live quote (small old-fashioned Scottish town) so not worried about there being loads with the same name - think they'd all raise eyebrows here actually!!

We must have similar tastes catinboots, I was considering Jacob too but DP likes the others better

handbagCrab · 09/06/2012 18:02

My Ds is Isaac
My cat is Oscar :)

I absolutely love Isaac. Oscar is lovely but one of those names that seems to have mushroomed in popularity - well round where we live anyway - most primary school classes seem to have at least one! Hugo is less popular but is quite funky. Personally I'd go for Isaac but they are all nice.

smokeandglitter · 09/06/2012 18:22

Isaac James Smile That's lovely!

IWantToGoToThere · 09/06/2012 19:39

I have a Hugo Edward. Love it! Am not keen on Isaac so Oscar would be my second choice

Britchic · 10/06/2012 11:24

Hugo.... love it!

Badgerina · 10/06/2012 13:50

Hugo or Oscar. Don't like Isaac.

RooibosWithMilk · 10/06/2012 18:28

I prefer Isaac then Oscar then Hugo. But all good! Wait til you meet him and see which he looks like :)

emmyloo2 · 11/06/2012 09:46

Hugo.

I like Oscar and Isaac but they are way too popular for my liking.

Hugo is fabulous. It's on my list.

lebasi · 11/06/2012 11:32

I have an Isaac James, so that gets my vote - although Isaac is becoming a much more popular name (if that concerns you). Isaac means laughter - and our Isaac certainly lives up to his name!
